<liketuimages> <center>      </center> </liketuimages> Sometimes the small adjustment of changing your perspective can add an element to a photograph that adds uniqueness or simply catches the eye. In the movie Dead Poets Society, actor Robin Williams plays John Keating, the instructor of a poetry class and proceeds to stand on top of his desk. He asks the class why he is standing on his desk, and later informs the class, "I stand upon my desk to remind myself that we must constantly look at things a different way. The world looks very different up here . . . Just when you think you think you know something you have to look at it in another way . . ." Such is the way at times with photography. Each time you go out for a session, try to remind yourself to approach and try something different. We've often been taught that portraits have massive shallow depth of field, and that tight shots reign supreme. Trust me...I love a good close up image with creamy bokeh, but time has taught me that often, some of my favorite shots are wide and at interesting angles...or incorporate something of else of interest like a flying object straight towards my camera! Try it sometime. Just change your perspective and you might just see the world from a different viewpoint.
