I believe education is the most important tool we can ever recieve, that can bring us to most **success** in life. Education is a warm-up challenge in life. A challenge that lessens more and bigger challenges we could face.

Education is about giving **knowledge** to every individual about the right wisdom, actions and personalities in order to live our life on our society. The more knowledge we gain the more opportunities will open up to allow individuals to achieve better possibilities in career and personal growth. Living in this 20th century, A person with higher education will be easy to recognized and qualified unlikely to a person without enough knowledge. There is a standard in every job we want to apply. One who is prepared and achieved that standard has the previlege to do various tasks and able to do more career demands.

Education is also about developing an **unique perspective** of looking at life. It played a major role to our society. Which allowed the community to succeed both socially and economically by enabling it to develop common culture and values. Education is the reason our world is the way it is today; doctors have been close to find a cure of a cancer because of a higher education; our technology has been enriched unlike from the past generations all because of education

Here in the **Philippines**, the education of Filipinos is **highly valued**. In fact, parents are working hard inorder for their children to succeed. We as Filipinos knew how hard life to live. Few people thought education as an useless and waste of time. Lucky for me I have parents that are very supportive through my education life.

# Importance of Education

* **Instrument of Acquiring Wisdom**

*Learning can be acquired in our daily life, but there is a greater chance of an individual to acquire wisdon if he or she is subjected to an educational system, which begins in our childhood until we attained the diploma that we hope to have. Education is a priority because it provides wisdom in diverse disciplines, from academic fields to proper interaction with others. Therefore, education is important because knowledge expands the world of an individual. Education drives people away from illiteracy and ignorance.*

*Education is a great help to get a good job. In fact, many companies today are taking on individuals who have acquired education.*

* **Instrument to Help Reduce Poverty Problems**

[Image.source](https://www.google.com.ph/search?dcr=0&tbm=isch&sa=1&ei=Lmi7WuHBBsGj0gSujImgAQ&q=poverty&oq=poverty&gs_l=mobile-gws-img.1.0.0i67j0l2j0i67l2.7159.8513..9103...2....222.1342.0j4j3..........1..mobile-gws-wiz-img.....3..35i39.oS1cWZ2QM3g%3D#imgrc=8j-znFiQS-RT1M:)

*A society can not achieve full development if only a few of its people are educated. The role of education is that people will be able to think for the betterment and welfare of the majority. Also because education can take initiatives that an individual can help his people to reduce poverty.*

* **Brand of a Person. **

*Other than racial or family backgrounds, the role of education is to improve the image or personality of an individual. There are instances where because of the education gained by an individual, it changes the view of every individual on his or her appearance in the community of which he is belonging to.*

# K-12 Program

The system of education has been changed 3 years ago. K-12 Program was officially approved by Former Ex-President of the Philippines, Benigno Aquino III. It covers 13 years of Basic Education

> Kindergarten
6 years of Primary Education
4 years of Junior High school
2 years of Senior High School

To privide a suffecient time for mastery of concepts and skills, develop lifelong learners, and prepare graduates for tertiary education, middle-level skills development, employment, and entrepreneurship.

Many find it a good, many find it a non-sense system. Different opinions and perceptions are shared. I don't want to argue about it, the important is I passed the Junior High School.

## Moving Up Ceremony

Unlike from the past, Graduation is witnessed after four years of highschool. Recently, fourth year students or today called as **Grade 10 Students** aren't able to graduate highschool. Yet they need to proceed two years of senior high school. With the K-12 educationak system in place in our country, **"Moving Up"** was introduced.

In accordance to K-12 program, we Grade 10 students observed the Moving-Up ceremony instead of the traditional graduation. This paves the way for our entry to Senior High School. It covers the last two years of the K to 12 program and includes Grades 11 and 12. During these two years, we students will go through a core curriculum and subjects under a track of our choice.

Yesterday was our Moving Up Ceremony with the theme **"K-12 Learners: Ready to Face Life's Challenges"**. It took place at the San Roque Gym. That day was full of excitement, as I knew I was about to walk in the Isle with my parents, shaking hands and recieve a diploma and going up to the stage to receive an award.

The program started with the processional, where we students walk in the isle with our parents along with us to our seats.

* ***Getting our Diplomas***

This time students with honors and academic awards are called up on the stage to recieve the award.

* ***Farewell Song***
