We can affirm with certainty that careful and meticulous listening is a quality that brings us closer to healthier interpersonal relationships. Emotions are intimately linked to the capacity we can develop to listen, since knowing how to listen allows us to obtain an emotional connection that can help us to optimize the time we invest in listening to other people.

Unfortunately there is a false belief that by listening for a long time to another person we may be wasting the time we invest, far from it, there are many advantages of this action.  This idea of thinking that we are wasting time when we listen to another person is because we are predisposed to listen and we even think that we already know what the other person is going to say.  

Although the experience of investing time in knowing how to listen to another person may seem traumatic to us because there are certainly some people who make us waste our time with meaningless conversations, in spite of all that we should not underestimate such experiences, the right thing is not to lose the essence that behind a good listener there is the opportunity of a good learning.  

To be a good listener we must be honest and leave the complexes of society, many people spend time listening to others for the simple fact that listening properly is good in the eyes of society, however the quality of being a good listener should be seen as a quality that will leave us benefits, especially in interpersonal relationships. 

If we try to concatenate some elements, we will reach the conclusion that the good listener is the person who can have the best relationships with family, friends and even at work, the way to demonstrate it is very simple, listening to another person awakens the bonds of empathy, and as we know very well when a person has empathy for another person is because he knows well the basic pillar of the relationships that we maintain in the day to day with others that is nothing more than empathy. 

The fundamental idea behind listening is that while we listen we are learning to internalize our relationships, while the person to whom we listen feels good to be heard, resulting in healthy relationships that can reach beyond social spheres, going from a good coexistence with family, friends and at work.
