The first thing that I would say that came to my mind as I saw this prompt was 'scheduling.'' Like penning my tasks for that day, -even to the smallest activity as bathing- on a paper and using it as a guide or template sort of to make sure I get things done. It's one thing that has always worked for me. It's one thing that helps me stay grounded and disciplined to the course. But recently, asides not making regular daily shedules(I want to blame it on the fact that in on holiday and I have the time) but, still, the few times I had made such to-dos, IA couple of days I don't stick to them. Sometimes, I procrastinate. And other times, I just forget that I made such a guide until much later that day or the next when it's a little too late. But scheduling does work for me. It's a hack, in my opinion, but it's not "that hack" that performs the overall efficiency magic. It has to be ***making my bed.*** Yeah, I know, I know, it comes off unusual and maybe not meaningful enough, but it is, in actuality. For me, this habit is one that I didn't realize helped me a lot until I took the time to think a little. You see, there's just something about laying your bed that gives a certain feeling of satisfaction like you've performed some task for the day. I mean, when you're able to perform something as little as that, even the mind interprets it as you achieving something and oh, it just does something to both your mental and physical space and gives you just the right zeal and enthusiasm to go about completing things. Days back, I woke up and jumped out of bed. I don't know what thing I engaged in, but most of it was idling. It was only almost around noon that I had to call myself to order about my laying about, found nothing meaningful, not even done any chores yet, or had my bath. I walked into my room, seeing the bed a mess, lazily, I tidied it up and almost immediately, I felt like I had done something purposeful amd just like so, I went on to do others. My friend back at school asked me why I always made sure I made my bed before leaving for class, even when we were running late. The only thing I told her was that it gave me a good start to my day. It gave me just the right push to go and face things head-on and in addition offered me the sense that I'd return home to an organized space, which is great for the mental health, by the way. I don't know how best to explain this, but maybe you should try it. You'd realize how much better and productive your day would go. Thanks for gracing this post. Greetings!
