As someone who has been here over two years the news that Tron has taken over steemit in a vague announcement on medium (FYI why wouldn't you do it on Steemit if you purchased the platform surely you would want to showcase it and throw traffic it's way). We will find out more in the AMA today and everyone is pretty shocked by the announcement, naturally so as people have invested their time and money into this platform. 

## Neds dead

We can all speculate on what we don't know and to an extent that a lot of fun but let's look at what we do know. We know that Ned wanted out thinking that Voice was going to obliterate Steemit and he didn't want to have his name attached to the project if his former partner puts him in the dirt. He saw Justin as a way out and has swindled some of the 70 million Tron got in their ICO and the unspecified VC capital the Tron foundation is running on. 

So Ned effectively sells the steemit.com domain and the stake it owns to Justin. We like to think everyone in blockchain that's a head of a project knows technology and finance but they don't, many are simply getting advised and let's be honest Justin isn't sitting down looking at the code base.

## Tron is a shit coin

Tron has never been anything special, it was an ERC-20 token and plagiarized a lot of its whitepaper, it copied loads of Ethereums code and has done pretty much jack shit but list on exchanges and launch its TRX tokenised system with its own chain. The fact is it's not particularly unique or revolutionary, its only money that talks so he throws money at the problem. 

The Tron foundation cannot complete and know they will fall into obscurity you can tell the way they fudge the numbers 20 million users? you mean accounts, get the fuck out of here. You'd be lucky if 1000 people are using any Tron dapp at any given time. 

## Buying their way in

Tron is banking on acquisition which it's done with BitTorrent and dLive a former STEEM dapp. He's trying to make it look as if Tron is more used than it actually is because it cannot stand on its tech only on its hype by Justin.  

Yes grabbing the domain will port users over but does he actually give a shit about the roadmap that was set out? I doubt it. It's all about user numbers so he can sell on the idea of success without actually having done anything. I mean why would you really want to buy a place with 30k active users on any given day unless your project is absolute garbage.  

He didn't want to build a site to compete when he can buy a ready-made solution, I think the arrogance of thinking he can port Steem to Tron the way he did with previous acquisitions is going to be a lot tougher than he thinks it will be and his going to have to sell us on something concreate today. 

## Possible clusterfork ahead

Talk of forks are already in the work and if need be we can claim our Tron dump it and snapshot our blockchain with allocation and keep going on a "classic" fork for lack of a better term. I'm not too concerned at the moment but I am interested to see how it all plays out.
