 Hello everyone friends of hive and sketchbook today I bring you a beautiful portrait that a friend of my mom commissioned me, she gave me a photo, so I could draw her grandfather, which seemed a little strange to me since it is not something I usually do, however I accepted this challenge and I said yes.

I was avoiding it for a while because it really scared me, I have done portraits before but never for a commission and so I felt a bit of pressure. 
 >Hola a todos amigos de hive y de sketchbook el día de hoy les traigo un bello retrato que me encargó una amiga de mi mamá, ella me entregó una foto, para que yo le dibujara a su abuelo, lo cual me pareció un poco extraño ya que no es algo que yo acostumbre a hacer, sin embargo acepte este reto y le dije que si.

>Estuve evitándolo durante un tiempo porque realmente me asustaba, anteriormente he hecho retratos pero nunca para un pedido y entonces sentía un poco de presión.

After postponing it for some time, I started sketching, shaped the face, and established the limits of each part, erased a lot of times because I was never convinced, until I got to the point where I liked it.
>Luego de posponerlo durante algún tiempo, empecé haciendo el bosquejo, le di forma a la cara, y establecí los limites de cada parte, borré un montón de veces porque nunca que me llegaba a convencer, hasta que llegué al punto de que me gustara

Then I darkened little by little the darker parts to give it depth, I started shading light first to then start shading darker little by little, I was already starting to like it and I was excited that my client liked it too, in this part I also gave a base color to the hair and eyebrows as well as I changed the eyes a little bit to make them look a little more symmetrical. 
>Luego oscurecí poco a poco las partes más oscuras para darle profundidad, empecé sombreando claro primero para luego empezar a sombrear más oscuro poco a poco, me estaba ya empezando a gustar y estaba entusiasmado de que le gustara también a mi cliente, en esta parte también le di un color base también al cabello y a las cejas al igual que le cambié un poco los ojos para que se vieran un poco más simétricos.

Finally I gave her all the details, I darkened everything that was missing by shadow, and little by little I gave her depth with the pencil and clarity with the eraser, each time adjusting little by little to her features until I was completely convinced, finally I added a simple background, which basically are spots without blurring well, and this was the final result, I hope you liked the final result, in my opinion it could have looked a little more but nevertheless I liked it, because it is part of my process and every day I will improve as an artist, I proposed myself as a goal to practice more doing realistic portraits since I don't usually do it and I have to improve it.

>Por ultimo le di todos los detalles, oscurecí todo lo que faltaba por sombra, y poco a poco le fui dando profundidad con el lápiz y claridad con el borrador, cada vez ajustando poco a poco a sus facciones hasta que me convenciera por completo, por ultimo añadí un fondo un poco sencillo, que básicamente son manchas sin difuminar bien, y este fue el resultado final, espero que les haya gustado el resultado final, en mi opinión pudo haberse parecido un poco más pero sin embargo me gustó, porque forma parte de mi proceso y cada día mejoraré como artista, me propuse como meta practicar más haciendo retratos realistas ya que no lo suelo hacer y tengo que mejorarlo.
