When we look around us it is impossible to not notice the high level of evil across the face of the earth. Evil is now the order of the day. This often leaves people questioning God where is He and what is going on. Some people drive to the conclusion that God has departed from them. But is that truly the case?

>Amos 4:6 - And I also have given you cleanness of teeth in all your cities, and want of bread in all your places: yet have ye not returned unto me, saith the LORD.

It is humans who depart from God. God desires that we maintain quality relationship with Him, this has been His initial plan for man right from when He put him in the garden of Eden. If we recollect in Genesis when God came to the Eden to fellowship with man as He used to, God couldn't see Adam because he was hiding from God's presence. Man has always been the one to draw away from God.

Like every good parent, God knows the best for us and knows that on our own we experience a miserable life and this is why He needs us to be close to Him in other to avert this.

Verse 7 continues by saying;

>And also I have withholden the rain from you, when there were yet three months to the harvest: and I caused it to rain upon one city, and caused it not to rain upon another city: one piece was rained upon, and the piece whereupon it rained not withered.

The result of derailing from God often puts us in terrible situations. Many of the the things people go through in life is not because God wants it to happen. The perdition of God's people does not please Him. But when we rebel against God we bring this problems upon ourselves. The only remedy for this is to return to God.
