Many people put in long hours yet end the day feeling drained and unsatisfied. Often, the problem isn’t the amount of work but the lack of meaning behind it.

The effort that you put into work will become less and rewarding only when you learn to put it into what really matters.

Let us say that we have two software developers , one sees the job just writing of code , while the other might see it as a tool of solving problem in humanity , the one who sees it as just writing of code is not seeing the meaning of the work and might not be fulfilled, but the one that sees it as a tool for helping humanity will see a meaning in it and thereby become fulfilled through it.

Take doctors in emergency rooms. Their shifts are exhausting, and the pressure is constant. But many keep going because the purpose—saving lives—gives them strength. The meaning behind the work fuels them more than rest ever could.

Teachers experience this too. A teacher who spends real time preparing lessons and guiding students often feels fulfillment in seeing progress. That deep effort feels very different from rushing through grading or paperwork. The impact they make on the students in having a great and better future  makes the work worthwhile.

Creative professionals also know this. An architect designing a community center isn’t just drawing lines on a page. purpose that transforms the task into something greater are added to the work as a result of the vision had in mind before building the project , which is the vision of space that will serve a lot of people..

meaningless work drains you, but meaningful work energizes you. Deep work is a way to connect with that meaning. When you give full attention, you’re not just finishing tasks you’re building something that lasts.

So friends , review your daily tasks and ask: “Which of these align with what I truly value?” Focus more energy there. the meaning behind it will make it feel lighter and far more rewarding. even though the work might feel hard.
