Everyone looks at cryptocrrency. Bitcoin, Bitcoin Cash, Ether, DASH, NEO, .... are attracting the most attention.  One can read in nearly every newspaper something about this hype.

And yes, me too (not metoo!), I am watching prices and opportunities and it makes a lot of fun. 
It remembers me the time before 2000, when we had the dot.com- enthusiasm. 

It ended bad for a lot of start-ups and for a lot of investors, losing their fortune.

While looking at cryptocurrency we forget that this is only one possibility of the technology called blockchain.

With it one can not only transmit coins but also smart contracts. And this is the real revolution. Perhaps more revolutionary than the world wide web in the early 80´s and 90´s. 

The one, coin transaction,  will surely change the world of finances.

The other, smart contracts, will change whole societies.

Smart contracts, those little programs on the blockchain, act at different places in the same time. And one can verify their execution by watching the blockchain; the so-called *open execution* .

Let´s take a big enterprise as Volkswagen with its factories in  different countries. With smart contracts on a VW-blockchain one can control in real time the production-line of really every part for the car, which shall be resembled at Germany. Every time, when a new smart contract is executed, say the backdoor is finished, it`s visible on the blockchain.
And further on, the machines will communicate without third parties as a human controller.

It´ll be much faster, even more exact and less expensive.

With a blockchain one could innovate the system of voting. No manipulation possible; if it is Trump or Clinton - the blockchain tells you the truth.

With blockchain it´ll be possible to give the people more direct power to govern themselves.

**Cryptocurrency** is a very good innovation and a challenge for the banking system.

But the **blockchain-technology** will not only change the payment flow but the whole industry and perhaps even the democratic system. It´ll be a challenge for our society as we know it.
