# Spring Flower Walk

Spring is definitely a beautiful time of year. The rebirth of the region is a much welcomed result of the demise of winter and the regrowth and flowering of spring and into summer. The important thing is to understand that these are cycles that are quite important for things overall! Without death we won't have rebirth eventually, so death is an integral part of the process, as difficult to deal with as it is.

The little man and I have been going out for walks in the morning when we can, and in the afternoon when I finish work so that we get to enjoy the flowers that are popping up everywhere!

I'm not really knowledgeable on the flowers, so I don't really know any of the names besides the easy and common ones like tulips. I think with the little man getting older, one of the things that I'd like to try and explore with him more as a way to teach him things about the world and the area we live in is to get a little identification booklet and when we are walking around, identifying the various flowers that we encounter. That's the cool thing about the kids as they get older, teaching them real-world information and a good benefit of homeschooling. Thinking about it though, it's not really homeschooling as it's just something that's overall good to do for the little ones! Life schooling, perhaps? I'll have to chew on that and figure out a different way to say it lol

Some of the neighbors have planted some really nice flowers such as these ones below! I love the vibrant purple color and the unique look to them. I'm glad that I got the pictures that I did because we have quite a population of rabbits around here. We planted some flowers last year and the little shits ate them before we even finished digging up the ground on the last one LOL it was so annoying! I guess they were thanking us for planting some delicious snacks for them!

I know that some flowers are ones that they don't like to eat, as with any animal they have preferences. I'm hoping that this one is a group of flowers that they don't like to eat! I like the different elements to this flower so hope to see it around for the next few weeks as I'm sure it's only a flower that will last 3-4 weeks at best before dying away.

These flowers here are quite popular and grow very easily and readily around our whole neighborhood. It took me a little bit of looking up but these are daffodils I believe, as they resemble the pictures that I found as well as the name quite easily rings a bell. I actually ended up knowing a few more flowers than I thought I did which is cool! I guess my mom did teach me a few interesting things when I was growing up lol.

I haven't seen any in a while but I know one of my moms favorite flowers in the spring were the crocuses that used to grow in their yard. I remember always knowing it was spring time and saying to her that the crocuses were growing. We could see them from the kitchen window and I do have some fond memories of watching them sprout up as a kid.

These ones are a variety of snapdragon! I know that one for sure as they have such a unique look to them. I like this kind because they are this really cool deep blue and purplish color that makes one hell of a standout. I think the damn bunnies eat these hahaha so I'm glad that I got to sneak in a look at them before they got chomped! I know the bunnies gotta eat.. but damn it! Why does it have to be flowers that we like to look at, and the pollinators enjoy very much?

One thing I'm for sure looking forward to is when the big trees near us burst out with the flowers! They smell so good, I will definitely be downloading an app on my phone to figure out what the trees are so that I can save them for future reference and hopefully grow some one day when we get a house with a yard! I know my house with a yard is going to be jam packed with all kinds of different trees and flowers that I've come to enjoy. I hope I can manage it all LOL
