0.000 HBDVote Efficiency
Hi fellow Hiveians, Today I've got a bit of a different type of post but one that I've been meaning to write. It's about voting efficiency and how we can improve it perhaps.
Efficiently Voting
Are you voting efficiently or not? That's been a sizable factor for me since I am trying to get a decent bang for my buck, so-to-speak, with my voting habits. I want to vote on as many of the smaller accounts as I can to bring them at least to the dust threshold for payout but not vote too strongly so that I reduce my voting power drastically. Thankfully there are some ways for us to see the data and make some conclusions on it! The first screenshot was taken off of BeeMe.icu a months ago when the calculation worked. I haven't been able to get it to work again so I'm glad I grabbed it. The website doesn't work at all right now so that's a bit unfortunate.
 Decent efficiency!
I was able to grab this screenshot just today from the pretty great Hivestats.io website which is run by the Leo Finance folks here in this community! Side note, is the efficiency section broken? Why does it say NaN%? To me it's not calculating the efficiency properly somehow, so hopefully that can be fixed!

So some of my votes were pretty well received on the other end! I took a risk and voted some of these posts a bit stronger than I normally do, seen in the 1st two votes. I got a 314% return on my vote in the hive power payout! That's probably my highest one yet! More of the normal votes I give are below that. I try to vote between .024 to 0.060 on many posts so that I can vote on more of them rather than burning all my voting power on one post. Sometimes I get tired or lazy though and don't feel like doing much interaction so I just find a newer post and bam here you go, 80-100% upvote from me! Then I keep going. Thankfully that doesn't happen too often, for my voting power's sake.
Check out your efficiency!
I recommend checking out your efficiency for your voting habits to see where you can improve it, if possible! From the https://hivestats.io/@cmplxty website (change it to your name of course), navigate to the "Rewards" section then go to "Pending" seen on the left. From there, you are going to change it to "Curation Rewards" and make sure you "Hide Dust Payout" so that you aren't inundated with useless metrics (a dust threshold, for those that aren't aware, is the minimum vote value required to receive a payment. Last I heard/remember, the minimum your post or comment needs to reach in order to receive some money is 0.025$. Lower than that, you don't make any money off the post or comment. This is also why I tell people don't bother voting on comments unless you have lots of power since the vote ends up getting wasted!) For me, I filtered by the most efficient votes and went down. Lots of my votes were pretty good, which has some additional positive implications for me. If I voted on someones post and brought it to at least dust threshold, and then lots of other people voted on it to bring it up to a few dollars, I received a good return on my investment for me giving them at least a minimum vote, regardless if no one else found the content. I kind of think of it as "here's a guarantee you will get at least a little something on this post" with the hopes of others coming across it to value it and vote on it as well. Now I don't normally go around and just blindly voting on things and never talking to the person. I most often find peoples posts and give it a once-over before I give it a vote. If I vote on it, 99% of the time I'm giving them a comment as well because the other very important part of this is engagement. If we are an environment with just voting but no engaging between people then this place will go downhill on the back of a rocket. Many of the people who have been here the longest have the saying "I came here for the crypto and money in the beginning, and I stayed because of the community" or some iteration of that. I too, am strongly in that boat. I had the intentions of making some money on here but then once I connected with lots of people, you're damn sure I stayed because of the interactions I've had! I've met some incredible people on here, which is why we need to engage and talk with the newer users. I try to give them that experience and some tips as much as I can in the beginning so they feel welcome and stick around. ## Share Yours! I would love to know your voting efficiency, sort it in the column and let me know what your most efficient vote was! You may certainly learn a few things about your habits that may change.
**Connect with me!** Did you enjoy this post or my other posts? Please consider following me for more!
