Gracias por pasar, version ene spañol abajo https://img.youtube.com/vi/Z80iIxa-BFg/maxresdefault.jpg?imwidth=1920&imdensity=2.625 [Source](https://www.thegamer.com/grand-theft-auto-6-development-no-crunch-rockstar-says-jason-schreier/) We're at a point in the gaming world where it seems like everything is changing rapidly. The latest crises that studios have encountered make one thing clear: players will no longer buy just anything, they will no longer play just anything, and nowhere is this truer than when we look at *free* titles or any that follow that model like Fortnite or similar. I think Call of Duty has been one of the most recognized video game franchises and the one that has garnered the most titles. I think back and can't think of any game that hasn't been a sales success or at least had some relevance among players, but it seems that changes when you change the model. <br> https://static1.thegamerimages.com/wordpress/wp-content/uploads/2024/08/27-call-of-duty-black-ops-6-is-bringing-back-dishonored-levels.jpg [Source](https://www.thegamer.com/call-of-duty-black-ops-6-bringing-back-dishonored-levels/) # Warzone Mobile, out The battle royale is one of the most competitive video game markets today, so for many it doesn't seem a surprise that Activision, with one of its largest IPs or one of the most recognized in the industry wanted to enter this market and get their share of the pie with Call of Duty: Warzone Mobile, and their gamble couldn't have gone worse. Remember, this was one of those games that came specifically for mobile devices, with graphics optimized for them and making a way of playing available to many players that had long been ignored by major studios like Activision. <br> https://skylinepost.org/wp-content/uploads/2025/02/lTe3c3paRnaEXpDIfhl9We7scmqZM7WDWwlDBAs7.jpg [Source](https://skylinepost.org/7589/arts-entertainment/pubg-mobile-a-big-game-on-a-small-screen/) I think the hegemony of titles like PUBG and Fortnite is more noticeable today than ever, making it impossible for new video games to emerge. At least in these genres, Warzone put up a strong fight throughout its seasons, but I think the profits Activision made during that time didn't entirely convince them to continue investing in new content or to continue supporting their online platforms. <br> https://unn.ua/img/2025/05/17/1747488613-4470-large.webp [Source](https://unn.ua/en/news/activision-is-shutting-down-the-mobile-game-call-of-duty-warzone-mobile) What surprised me is the speed with which they've done this. Warzone Mobile hasn't even been out for a year and is flooded with the classic content that these games have, which are free and open to the public, an aesthetic similar to Fortnite with its micropayments where you have different seasons with events, skins, and more. Others that kept company with the classic battle royale mode we all know today. Even so, don't expect this game to have generated losses for the company. I think they're simply so used to the gigantic revenues some of their games have on consoles, where they're one of the IPs that generates the most money in that micropayment hell they've been subjecting players to for some years now. <br> https://support.activision.com/content/dam/atvi/support/article-assets/embedded-images/warzone-mobile/menu2.PNG [Source](https://unn.ua/en/news/activision-is-shutting-down-the-mobile-game-call-of-duty-warzone-mobile) It's been interesting to see Activision compete in a territory where, let's be honest, they had no experience whatsoever and where many video games had already failed before. I'm tired of seeing entire studios closing on the news because they can't compete with blockbusters and the consistent content of video games like Fortnite, which has remained at the top thanks to offering a solid experience. I enjoyed Warzone Mobile once in a while. I'm not a big fan of waiting in a lobby for 5 minutes only to be killed seconds after landing on the stage, but let's just say that for competitive play, it was pretty decent, and the graphical change they made to the graphics to put it on a phone was noticeable. <br> https://static1.anpoimages.com/wordpress/wp-content/uploads/2024/03/call-of-duty-warzone-mobile-gameplay-2.jpg [Source](https://www.androidpolice.com/call-of-duty-warzone-mobile-generic-battle-royale-no-fun/) However, I think the wear and tear is evident. Why would I spend my money and time leveling up my character, completing all the missions this season to unlock something special, if after a few months the game might no longer exist? We're entering that zone where video games are no longer paid for with money (at least at first), but with your time, and I'm starting to value mine more.
