# Asi que aqui estamos!

Para los que ya saben hae un tiempo decidi revivir un poco mi infancia y comprar una Wii de esas baratas que se venden en mi zona (20$) y la verdad si bien tenia algunos planes con ella como jugar algunos de los clasicos de la Wii asi como completar algunos juegos que jugue y no termine de pequeño me encontre con algo mucho mejor, un centro de juegos excelente para muchos otros titulos de otras consolas y es que desde que la compre e hice un tutorial sobre como instalar algunos emuladores me la he disfrutado como nunca, jugando desde juegos de la NES hasta clasicos que jamas habia tocado como Ocarina Of Time (post en desarrollo) y el primer Smash Bros, toda una ganga por el precio al que compre la consola! 

Hoy despues de casi 2 meses jugando con la consola me pregunto ¿que tanto ha valido la pena esta inversion? bueno si partimos de que mi coste inicial por la consola entera con un control y todos sus cables y sensores de movimiento me ha costado 20$ y a eso le agregamos una memoria USB que compre para experimentar con ROMs e instalar los emuladores me costo 6$ por el lado economico por todo lo que aporta en el sentido de juegos iconicos y juegos para toda la familia o para alguna visita pasa de sobra esta prueba, por poco menos de 30$ y un par de horas descubriendo el maravilloso mundo de liberar consolas la Wii puede ser un aliado duradero lleno de juegos excelentes.

# Los clasicos

a Wii es una de esas consolas iconicas de tantas que nos ha dejado Nintendo, con un sistema de controles que significo todo un desafio para los desarrolladores de juegos pero que no les impidieron hacer algunas joyitas que ya me he jugado y otras que aun estan pendientes de pasar por mi consola, recuerdo con especial cariño Twillight Princess al que considero el mejor Zelda que he jugado hasta ahora (no me he pasado Skyward Sword ni Breath Of The Wild) asi como juegos de lucha tan iconicos como Smash Bros Brawl al que he jugado poco en estos dias porque aun estoy bastante pegado al Melee que descargue usando un emulador de Gamecube (funciona bien!), no me quiero imaginar todas las joyitas ocultas que no me jugado como las dos entregas de Mario Galaxy o juegos tan fuera de mis gustos como lo es Xenoverse, espero que mientras vaya encontrando los ROMs los pueda jugar como se merecen.

#### ROMs

Para los que no sepan cuando compre esta Wii tenia pensado en hacer todo tipo de cosas sucias con ella, una de ellas era liberarla para que pudiese agarrar algnos archivos ROMs que podia descargar en la red, aclaro que esto lo hacia porque es imposible en mi pais conseguir juegos de Wii sellados o usados ademas de que algunos titulos simplemente no llegaron por estos lares, los ROMs son una oportunidad unica de disfrutar varios juegos que considero son UNICOS en la Wii como lo son Metroid Prime 3 o algunos de esos juegos de nicho que Nintendo saco en solo algunas partes del mundo, este tipo de archivos son faciles tanto de buscar como de manipular si tienes algun tutorial a la mano y funcionan de maravillas sin  ningun tipo de lastre del rendimiento de nuestra consola, y lo mejor de todo ES GRATIS!

# La cereza del pastel: Emuladores

Esta parte me agarro por total sorpresa cuando empece a investigar mas a fondo que consolas podia emular sin perder mucha de la experiencia y el rendimiento que me daba la Wii, resulta que esta pequeña consola de hace mas de 10 años funciona bastante bien si quieres jugar algunos de los oldies de las consolas como Genesis o Nintendo 64, hay una variedad de opciones para instalar y la verdad encontrar archivos de este tipo de juegos es tan simple como hacer una busqueda en internet, el primer amulador que pude probar es el de la Game Boy y se sintio como volver a mi pequeño yo con Pokemon RedFire pero es que tambien hay una cantidad absurda de juegos y diferentes versiones que puedes descargar, ademas de que tambien el peso de estos juegos es minimo para una memoria de varios GB, te lo digo, hasta ahora he probado emuladores de la Genesis, la NES, Nintendo 64 y Game Boy y cada uno de ellos funciona sin problemas si los ejecuto desde un canal WADs, una locura. 

Sigues sin estar convencido? ya dije que tengo la posibilidad de jugar una cantidad absurda de juegos con tan solo 30$? estoy bastante seguro que tambien podrias convertir a una Wii en un centro multimedia para reproducir todo tipo de DVD como peliculas o musica, aun no he probado esta funcion pero lo visto por Youtube y se ve bastante bien por si no tienes la capacidad de tener algun reproductor, tambien puedes usar archivos con la USB asi que tranquilamente podrias estar viendo peliculas en tu Wii :)

# Conclusion

No puedo pensar en una mejor manera de reingresar a los videojuegos sinceramente, la cantidad de oportunidades que abre una consola si tenemos el conocimiento suficiente para sacarle el mejor provecho son increibles, estoy dispuesto a enseñar esto a la mayoria de los amigos que conozco con una Wii porque esto no solo revive una consola sino que resucita toda una pasion hacia los videojuegos, poder jugar y experimentar algo nuevo es una sensacion que no podra igualarlo otro arte al menos en mi caso por lo que asi este jugando juegos de varias decadas pasadas siento que es algo completamente nuevo que estoy aca jugando, si quieres una consola efectiva para divertirte y barata con mucho potencial aun por descubrir, escoge una Wii.

# So here we are!

For those who already know some time ago I decided to relive my childhood and buy a Wii of those cheap ones that are sold in my area (20$) and the truth if I had some plans with it like playing some of the classics of the Wii as well as complete some games that I played and did not finish as a child I found something much better, an excellent game center for many other titles from other consoles and since I bought it and did a tutorial on how to install some emulators I have enjoyed it like never before, playing from NES games to classics that I had never played as Ocarina Of Time (post in development) and the first Smash Bros, a bargain for the price at which I bought the console! 

Today after almost 2 months playing with the console I wonder how much has been worth this investment? Well if we start from the fact that my initial cost for the whole console with a controller and all its cables and motion sensors cost me 20$ and to that we add a USB stick that I bought to experiment with ROMs and install emulators cost me 6$ on the economic side for everything it brings in the sense of iconic games and games for the whole family or for a visit passes this test, for just under 30$ and a couple of hours discovering the wonderful world of unlocking consoles the Wii can be a lasting ally full of excellent games.

# Classics

a Nintendo Wii is one of those iconic consoles of many that Nintendo has left us, with a control system that meant a challenge for game developers but that did not prevent them from making some gems that I have already played and others that are still pending to pass through my console, I remember with special affection Twillight Princess which I consider the best Zelda I've played so far (I haven't played Skyward Sword or Breath Of The Wild) as well as fighting games as iconic as Smash Bros Brawl which I've played little these days because I'm still pretty stuck to Melee that I downloaded using a Gamecube emulator (it works fine! ), I don't want to imagine all the hidden gems that I haven't played like the two installments of Mario Galaxy or games as out of my tastes as Xenoverse, I hope that as long as I find the ROMs I can play them as they deserve.

#### ROMs

When I bought this Wii I was thinking of doing all kinds of dirty things with it, one of them was to free it so I could grab some ROMs files that I could download on the net, I clarify that this was because it is impossible in my country to get Wii games sealed or used plus some titles just didn't arrive in these parts, ROMs are a unique opportunity to enjoy several games that I consider are UNIQUE on the Wii such as Metroid Prime 3 or some of those niche games that Nintendo released in only a few parts of the world, these files are easy to search and manipulate if you have a tutorial at hand and work great without any kind of ballast of the performance of our console, and best of all is FREE!

# The icing on the cake: Emulators

This part took me by complete surprise when I started to investigate further what consoles I could emulate without losing much of the experience and performance that the Wii gave me, it turns out that this little console from more than 10 years ago works pretty well if you want to play some of the oldies from consoles like Genesis or Nintendo 64, there are a variety of options to install and the truth to find files of this type of games is as simple as doing a search on the internet, the first amulator I could try is the Game Boy and it felt like going back to my little self with Pokemon RedFire but there is also an absurd amount of games and different versions you can download, plus the weight of these games is also minimal for a memory of several GB, I tell you, so far I have tried emulators of the Genesis, the NES, Nintendo 64 and Game Boy and each of them works without problems if I run them from a WADs channel, crazy. 



Still not convinced? I already said that I have the ability to play an absurd amount of games with only 30$? I'm pretty sure you could also turn a Wii into a media center to play all kinds of DVDs like movies or music, I have not yet tested this function but I saw it on Youtube and it looks pretty good if you do not have the ability to have any player, you can also use files with USB so you could be quietly watching movies on your Wii :)

# Conclusion

I can''t think of a better way to re-enter video games honestly, the amount of opportunities that a console opens up if we have enough knowledge to get the best out of it are incredible, I am willing to teach this to most of the friends I know with a Wii because this not only revives a console but resurrects a whole passion towards video games, to be able to play and experience something new is a sensation that no other art can match, at least in my case, so even if I'm playing games from several decades ago I feel like it's something completely new that I'm here playing, if you want an effective console to have fun and cheap with a lot of potential yet to be discovered, choose a Wii.
