AWS re:Invent 2021: My Schedule
I'm very excited about being able to attend AWS re:Invent in person this year. Let me share which sessions I've reserved seats in.

## Assumptions
* Workshops > other session types - there are many types of sessions you can attend. This includes chalk talks, lightning talks, demos, fairs, jams, breakout sessions and other interesting names I don't exactly understand. I find workshops particularly interesting because you get to do a hands-on exercise, you can discuss it with other participants and the speakers. I have thoroughly enjoyed the workshops I've been in before.
* Include Keynotes - Keynotes have something interesting about them, they are pretty fast paced and exciting. Swami Sivasubramanian's AI and ML session is pretty obvious since it will feature the [AWS DeepRacer 2021 Championship Final](https://blog.deepracing.io/2021/11/03/aws-deepracer-championships-2021/) but others are worth seeing too.
* Network - find time to show up at the AWS Heroes Lounge in the Expo area at the Venetian, ensure I get to meet and talk to other participants, have fun
* Subjects: ML, MLOps - as many as possible
* DeepRacer - whatever I do, I will make sure to include DeepRacer in it!

## Sessions I've reseved
Usually these things change throughout the week but right now this is my plan for the sessions.

### Monday
* 10:00 am - 12:15 pm - Build secure and compliant ML and data-backed applications (MKT301) - a 300 level workshop focusing on compliance and security of the ML environment
* 12:15 pm - 1:15 pm - Prepare data for ML with ease, speed and accuracy (AIM319) - a 300 level breakout session presenting tools to label, prepare and understand the data and to store, retrieve and share features. I might not make it to this one but I'm hoping to finish the workshop early enough to manage.
* 1:45 pm - 2:45 pm - Boost your bug-bashing skills: Find and fix code faster with AWS BugBust (BGB301) - a 300 level builders' session presenting [AWS BugBust](https://bugbust.aws/) initiative where I will participate in an attempt to beat the Guiness World Record for a largest bug fixing challenge.
* 4:00 pm - 5:00 pm - Productizing a serverless MVP (COM201) - a 200 level breakout session on how to turn an MVP into a working product
* 5:30 pm - 6:30 pm - Rightsizing SageMaker compute instances for ML model training & inference (AIM405) - A chalk talk on how to evaluate your needs for resources and which compute options can satisfy them

### Tuesday

## Networking
I plan to attend some of the evening activities including AWS re:Play and visit the AWS Heroes Lounge at the Expo area at the Venetian. In the past I've found meals a great opportunity to get to know people and learn about interesting sessions happening. I will also take place in the live AWS DeepRacer race on Tuesday.

## AWS DeepRacer
Here are some sessions featuring DeepRacer:
* DPR201 - 200 level workshop helping you train your first DeepRacer model
* DPR202 - 200 level breakout sessions presenting how you can use AWS DeepRacer to build an inclusive machine learning company culture at your organisation
* DPR203 - 200 level breakout session presenting the AWS DeepRacer open-source robotics projects
* DPR204 - 200 level DeepRacer workshop - learn how to train a model using the AWS DeepRacer console. Also features DeepLens and DeepComposer learning devices
* DPR205 - series of live virtual races where you will see your DeepRacer model race on a track in real time
* DPR301 - 300 level workshop presenting analysis tools for AWS DeepRacer
* DPR401 - 400 level workshop presnting how to use Amazon SageMaker notebooks to train DeepRacer models

## Virtual attendance
It's not easy to attend conferences in person nowadays, that's why AWS offer free virtual participation. You can register on https://reinvent.awsevents.com/
