Yes, we have seen a lot of millionaires who did not have a formal education and just by knowing about the basics of investment, they are making millions. I am in no way against formal education, which is actually needed in all parts of your life. I am talking about mere investment and creating wealth, which in no way needs educational qualification. There are a lot of people who have created wealth just by investment at a very young age and thus proving the point.

We are all aware of these but being educated we miss the point and become very over smart when it comes to investment but I think who knows the basics of investment will succeed in the long run and not who has more educational qualification. I have seen people earning millions and going broke after having a lot of educational qualifications and thus the difference is that educational qualification is one thing and having knowledge of investment is other and we should keep them separate.

There is an advertisement where it is shown that a Cab driver is asking Sachin Tendulkar about SIP, and the latter is asking him to consult an advisor and invest based on the risk. This is actually great advice and thus being a Cab driver he knows that to grow the money you have to invest and that too for the long term. There are people who are actually ignorant even if they have educational qualifications and lose money because of their ignorance. For instance, a friend of mine who is highly qualified keeps almost all his money in an equity mutual fund but when 2020 came he booked the losses and vows not to enter the market again. This is from a person who is actually quite good at academics. The problem is, he lose money because he was zero in investment basics even though he was good in his studies.

Actually what he would have done is to have his portfolio based on his risk appetite and he should rebalance it whenever the ratio of equity and debt goes. Now when the market is going up, he has started his investment again also most of it in equity just in hope that he will earn his lost money. And thus from this, we are certain that education helps us to be eligible to read, write and understand to the larger extent as well be professional. But it did not teach us not to be greedy or be in fear.

For investing, no matter how much educated you are, you must start learning about the basics of investment if you want to be wealthy in future. Being educated gives you an advantage, so we should not take that advantage to be more greedy instead every one of us should be educated for financial education as well as educate some people to make their life easier in the future.
