I've made a lot of visits to places and i always love places with important monuments like castles. In Ghana, i visited some of them like the Cape Coast Castle and others. Travelling to the UK has also made me see some of these monumental edifices. Recently I made a trip to Windsor and actually it was my second time there. This was to explore the town and some other places like the Windor Castle. We were late and we weren't given access. I saw some guards around and you wouldn't have access to it and even to some places even if it's open. While i explored and and looked it its magnificence, i learned something important about the whole experience. 

This was about guarding what truly matters in life. We live in a world where our energy, attention, and presence are all being asked for by every person, situation, opinion, and trending event that knocks on our door, and that can be loud and relentless. But not everything that is wanting space in your life is valuable. Some things are driven by noise, which sounds like it matters. Some people just come to take and never to give. If you don't learn to be discerning about those you let into your life, your doors will be open to everything, and in the end, you may lose what matters the most: your peace, your time, your values, and your worth.

There is wisdom in knowing how to build gates into your life. Not walls that lock out the world, but gates that choose deliberately what gets through. Think about a castle. A castle does not open its gates to everyone that walks by. There is a reason important places have guards. There is a reason important things are protected. Impo4tant things are not dsiposed of casually. Important things are cared for. 
You are an important thing. Your energy, attention, and heart before any person or product is not cheap. You should not give it away without consideration. When you consider your time and your presence as valuable, others will learn that it is valuable. 

You don’t need to entertain the next voice or welcome the next person into your space. Some people and some situations are not for you, and that is a good thing. Let them walk past. Let the opinions that do not build you pass. Let the distractions pass that do not honour your direction. Let the people who only take and never honour your presence walk out. You are not closing up. You are simply choosing what to invest in, and that is not pride, that is maturity. What you guard speaks to your values. What you value creates your existence. When you begin to guard what is important, you stop living for approval and start living with purpose. Guard your peace. Guard your purpose. Guard your soul. If you don’t nobody else will. And when you start to guard well, you will not live empty. You will live rooted.</div>
