I decided to clean my pistol a little while back and since my tripod was already set up in the dining room I decided to turn it into a photo shoot while I was at it.  Upon a moment's reflection, I decided Nikons and gun oil probably don't mix and nixed the 'during' photos and just took some 'before' shots instead.

In case you couldn't tell, this is a 9mm semiauto, a Smith & Wesson SD VE.  I was on a budget when I purchased it, had almost resigned myself to getting a Taurus when I happened across this pistol.  I've had it for five years now and it's logged many a mile with me and I have only one complaint.  The trigger is heavier than on most double action revolvers I've fired and breaks rather abruptly, I'm not a fan, but there's an aftermarket replacement spring that makes it less of an issue.  It's a development of the older *Sigma* line of pistols and will accept mags for them, which is nice and much cheaper than the newer ones.

My idea in taking these photos had been to use them for stock but I couldn't get the shots I took to match the ones I'd envisioned in my head.  Any of you who do stock ever run into issues with this?  For some reason, the stock photo of mine that I've made the most off of was one of the mags for this pistol standing up with a bullet in front of it.  I'd considered the shot a throwaway and had thrown it up on Shutterstock mostly for shits & giggles.  Any of y'all out there shoot with something other than a camera?  What do you carry?
