--- I love Nigeria. They call us “*Happy people*” because in the midst of it all; mismanagement of resources, leadership problems, wastage, and lack of maintenance culture, we, the citizens always find reasons to encourage ourselves and be happy. Nigerian youths are really hard-working I must admit. They don’t just sit around to see what the government can do, they know their destiny is in their hands and they fight through hardships. Ease is a threat to work. Blogging on Steemit in Nigeria is really challenging, and many Nigerians who will see this post can attest to this fact. --- --- Don’t get me started on the lack of electricity sometimes. I rely mostly on my power bank as back up in case my battery is close to the red bar. I am fortunate to be able to charge my electronics most of the time at work, both the power bank and the phone. Sometimes, I charge them in the house when they bring the light. Sure, we do have light, but it is totally unreliable. Most people charge with their power generating set. Even with that, the price of fuel is 145 naira, which is around $0.50, compared to the 97 naira it used to be. It is sometimes a real struggle. Another issue I encounter with blogging on Steemit, here in Nigeria is our data plans. This is so annoying. After subscribing to a monthly data plan, a week later I get a notification that it has been exhausted. Hahaha. We use a popular company for our data because the plan is cheaper. But then they halved the amount of data we get, yet it remains the same price. Their rates are steep and data plans get expensive quickly. --- --- I was speaking with my friend Jordan last night; just a normal conversation about what data plans are like here, and also what I used in making my posts. I told him I write my posts on my mobile phone. He was totally surprised to hear that. I admit, it is a real struggle making a post on your phone. Especially when you use the brand of phone that suddenly quits working when you want to make a comment, where numerous comments have already been made. Sometimes your phone restarts for no apparent reason hahaha. Thankfully, I don’t seem to have that problem with this phone, but I have seen others struggle with it. Making a post on your phone is challenging, especially if you are the kind of person like me, that likes to make between two to three posts a day, many of which are quite lengthy. I had that conversation with Jordan and I noticed he stopped talking for a while. After few minutes, he sent me [this post](https://steemit.com/fundraising/@shenanigator/fundraiser-helping-olawalium-buy-a-laptop), a blog post dedicated to raising funds for me to buy a new laptop. Hahaha, he did this for me. You are golden, my friend, so golden. --- --- This is what it is like to blog in Nigeria. What's your blogging experience like? Do you experience similar troubles? Please share in the comment section. I don’t want to make the post too long for you all, so I had to reduce it. Nigeria is really promising. It's truly an amazing country and there is so much potential here. So many business potentials with massive labour power too. Thank you for your time. --- **My pen doesn’t bleed, it speaks, with speed and ease.** *Still me*, **Olawalium**; (*Love’s chemical content, in human form*). **Take a dose today: doctor’s order.** ---

If you enjoyed this post, follow @Olawalium
