After two days of packed itinerary, its time for a relaxing day. My third day in Barcelona will focus more on the city centre. --- ##
_BARCELONA ITINERARY_
### DAY 3 - **Poble Espanyol Barcelona**
http://i.cubeupload.com/y1FO1j.jpg

On the third day, we visited a Spanish Village called Poble Espanyol. This 50,000m² meters area is primarily a life-size reproduction of all types of houses, lifestyle and cultures of Spain that you can experience in one place. The village consists of 177 buildings representing 33 different Spanish regions.

Poble Espanyol was established to the world exhibition, which took place in 1929 in Barcelona. It should then be demolished after the exhibition but it became popular and they decided to retain it.

http://i.cubeupload.com/wl3zdo.jpg

_Plaza Mayor of the Spanish Village_

I enjoyed strolling along the alleys, stopped by at the local shops and check on the handicrafts and arts from all over Spain inside this village.

http://i.cubeupload.com/h4R4Kb.jpg

Besides handicrafts and arts, you can also find gourmet products from all over the country in this village. You can find olive oil, honey, wines, breads, cheeses and not forgetting the ice-creams!

- **La Rambla**
Its shopping time!! Before we leave Barcelona the next day, we took the opportunity to visit La Rambla. La Rambla is a 1.2km street situated in the central Barcelona, popular with tourists and locals alike. The Rambla was the only space where everyone could stroll and spend their leisure time and it became a meeting point for all the social classes.

http://i.cubeupload.com/VfnsSD.jpg

There are many of shops such as Zara & Mango and restaurants along the full stretch of the La Rambla. However due to the popularity of La Rambla and the volume of tourists visiting La Rambla, you will find the prices are more expensive compared to other less touristy area. Oh yeah.. if you are Hard Rock Cafe merchandise collector like me.. there is one HRC shop here in La Rambla!

As we stroll along the nearby street, we stumbled upon a Gothic looking cathedral. The Cathedral is known as The Holy Cross and Saint Eulalia (also known as Barcelona Cathedral). I didn't manage to go inside the Cathedral but still amazed with the architecture.

http://i.cubeupload.com/dwAbrE.jpg

http://i.cubeupload.com/ujtzjR.jpg

Another place that you should discover while in La Rambla is the La Boqueria food Market. It is a covered public market and labeled as one of the top food market in the world!

http://i.cubeupload.com/6giMN7.jpg

_Main Entrance of La Boqueria_

http://i.cubeupload.com/D7clTg.jpg

_Impressive selections of chocolates and sweets on sale at La Boqueria_

http://i.cubeupload.com/EltH2s.jpg
_Souvenir Bottles of Sangrias_

http://i.cubeupload.com/qye7a0.jpg
_El Toro (The bull) shaped Sangria Bottle_

If you still have 30 minutes or one hour left in La Rambla, you may also visit Museu de l'Erotica (Museum of Erotic Art) just in front of La Boqueria. This museum exhibits on erotica from ancient times to today, including Kama Sutra, erotic art & sexual records. It was actually quite interesting, informative and funny!! We actually had a good laugh inside the museum.

http://i.cubeupload.com/MSE636.jpg

http://i.cubeupload.com/d5OMSj.jpg

http://i.cubeupload.com/fu9TDX.jpg

La Boqueria from the Erotic Museum

http://i.cubeupload.com/R7FGsI.jpg

---
Overall, my experience of Barcelona was quite heartwarming as the city is full of life, the architectures are amazing, parks and beautifully maintained, the mountain and hill views are stunning and it was all quite delightful. Looking forward to go back.. perhaps after the completion of Sagrada Familia! I hope you enjoyed reading this post and hope it will serve as a guide for you when travelling to Barcelona..

By the way, links below are part 1 and part 2 of my Barcelona trip.
