It is really a very beautiful thing to see how science have really developed and evolved over the years and trust me, it is something so beautiful to actually see. Science have been able to penetrate every aspect of the world and even to the medical aspect. With the aid of science discovery and development, we have been able to come across new medical treatments that have really helped a lot of people. Fibroid as a health issue have been associated to the women most of the time and it is caused when there is a non cancerous growth that happens in the uterus of the woman. It happens most of the time during their reproductive years and some times it can really be emotional and physical demanding because of that condition. Dealing with Fibroid is not as easy as many of us always think. Even though it does not come with that much stigma as compared to other diseases like cancer, tuberculosis, Aids and many more, it can still cause a whole lot of issues. Fibroid as a growth like is aid earlier varies in several size. Some times it can be so small and sometimes it can be so big in size. The funniest thing about fibroid is that it might not manifest in symptoms when it is still at the early stage. [Image Source](https://pixabay.com/illustrations/fibroids-fibroids-model-2947710/) It is highly necessary that there should be early diagnosis of the disease most especially at the early stage to know what next to do. Sometimes, when the fibroid is still at the early stage, there might not be need for surgery as it can be treated but when it becomes severe, there is a need for surgery and when it becomes so so severe, surgery might not be able to handle it any longer. Most of the time, forms of medications can take place through medications which is mostly prescribe when it is still at the early stage. For me personally, I believe that if you want to deal with fibroid, even thought the medical intervention is still there but it is not enough. Those medications, surgeries will not be able to solve everything. I believe the women should still be able to enroll in any therapy for mental health support and care because trust me, sometimes it comes with those issues. It can really be emotional demanding and draining actually. In fact some women might commit suicide because of that actually. Yes I hear news of some of them. Like they always say, when the treatment of Fibroid start, it will warrant the changes in lifestyle. You will need to change how you live your life in every aspect. You will need to start watching the food you take in, watch the time of physical activity you engaged in and all other stress activities that you might be engaging into. All these things are very important so that it will not make the condition to become worse than before. In some parts of the world, people always think that it is a spiritual thing. Well even if in some cases, it might be spiritual but not all. I think the issue with Nigeria or generally African perspective is that we are quick to always generalized everything to be spiritual. It is not supposed to be so. If we face any medical or health issue, we should seek help at the early stage. It can still be rectified.
#
For Further Studies
- https://www.healthline.com/health/fibroids-natural-treatment - https://www.nhs.uk/conditions/fibroids/treatment/ - https://www.webmd.com/women/uterine-fibroids/uterine-fibroids-dos-and-donts - https://www.mayoclinic.org/diseases-conditions/uterine-fibroids/diagnosis-treatment/drc-20354294 - https://my.clevelandclinic.org/health/diseases/9130-uterine-fibroids
