# **Community Engagement Challenge: New Campaign Mode** #

Good day Splinterfam! Here I am back again for this week's challenge to share to everyone who is new and for those who plan to return playing splinterlands the new campaign mode.

But before diving in to that, I just wanna share that I just returned playing splinterlands again, I just played again after the new update with the new packs the Conclave Arcana so let us all learn together this new feature that they implemented and how it helps new players and old coming back players relatively.

If you look at the playable cards on your item the starter cards which would be free of use to modern battles (the rebellion cards) is gone. And it is replaced by this newly called **Foundation Cards**. Foundation cards are set of cards that you can use in any format, it consist of cards from every element excluding the Dragon and yes Neutrals are included. All cards acquired are all level 1 and will stay level 1 for now. 

These are the cards which you can get for free in completing the Book 1 of campaign mode which consist of 11 chapters.

I personally like the water element because the Archon give plus 1 magic attacks to all monsters and it reminds me of Alric the first summoner or Archon which was very good especially on bronze league.

As you can see there are still foundation card which are still acquirable and are not included in Book 1. Foundation cards can be used in battle without penalty on your reward so this new feature is very beginner friendly and would very much help new player who are starting and for also people like me who sold thier entire collection and are coming back to play again to rebuild again. 

To play the campaign mo click the play button then click "Campaign"

Then click the Book 1

Then you click play and then finish all chapter and after that you will get all the foundation card that was shown on the images above.

Hop on now and get your foundation cards and start earning glints and Sps (if you stake sps or rent) In phase 2 they will make the foundation card tradable and being able to combine them to level them up to be able to effectively use them in higher league. I forgot to mention that the foundation cards are not the only benefit in playing the campaign mode, It also helps new players to learn the basics of playing splinterlands before feeding them in the wolfs den which is the ranked match where there are many good players lol. Campaign mode teacher about card types, melee attacks, ranged attacks, armor, speed, magic attacks, abilities, mana, elements and modifiers.
Everything you need to know about the basics will be tackled on book 1 of campaign mode.

Overall the new campaign mode update is good for new players because before on the starter cards if you use then in rank battles you would receive a penalty on your rewards so having this new foundation card is a real help. All you need to do next is rent some sps or stake some and start farming glints and start earning sps then reinvest it again and buy packs and write blogs here to have fund to buy packs. That is my plan to slowly build my decks again.
