I loved getting to sit down Brad Kam, the Co-Founder  and head of Business Development for Unstoppable Domains to learn more about the great work they are doing.

Unstoppable Domains is a blockchain-based, decentralized domain registry that will allow people to build censorship-resistant websites. 

We hear a lot about censorship in social media applications - but web hosting domains absolutely have the power to take down websites and we’ve been seeing this happen around the world in various forms. 

In this chat, we talk about:

- Why regular domains are “stoppable” and what they are doing differently.

- A look under the hood at exactly how these domains are set up and what makes them decentralized.

- A little IPFS 101 to help people understand the mechanism they are using to decentralize their service. 

- The difference between the .zip and .crypto domains they offer.

- Domain arbitrage if that is something they have seen happening yet.

- The new browser plugin that was just released and what that will allow users to do.

- SEO and discoverability of these sites.

- A beginner’s walkthrough on exactly how to buy an setup your blockchain domain.

- The team (including Ollie the unstoppable dog!) and what is next on the roadmap for development.
