Hey everyone, we have been doing feral honey bee swarm rescues/removals for around 2 months now. We always had the problem in removing honey from the wax, well that problem luckily for us no longer exists. We recently took a drive to the local honey equipment suppliers and purchased this honey press. Now this unit is no where near ideal for a start who paints a unit used to process food?? Only in China right?   A hot comb always drains much better, to achieve this simply put them in the sun for an hour or two, thereafter into this press.   I would love to have had this unit to be automatic and secondly made from stainless steel but for what we paid for this and for now it will suffice. This unit cost us R1400 odd which is around $140!  After screwing this down and applying some serious elbow grease the golden honey begins to run, what an awesome sight. These I had not put in the sun for a bit to become more viscous I will however do so from now and going forward!    In order for this honey to be the very highest quality and raw, unfiltered we simply drain into a two piece strainer which removes all the larger particles. Once it has completely strained we bottle from the main stainless collection container below!   It looks totally delicious right? I can assure you it really is.  This is what the compressed wax looks like. This still has much honey in it. I simply put in the sun for another hour and then put in this press one last time extracting as much of the honey as possible!   You feeling hungry now? I certainly am.
