Hello everyone

This is a follow up to yesterdays post on what has transpired since then. I deal quite a bit with this particular company and the restructuring has backfired somewhat. Firstly the ones that didn't accept the relocation had to accept retrenchment packages. More than expected chose to leave and were snatched up immediately by competitors. This left capable but not overly experienced people in positions doing the jobs that two or three people were doing before.

Fast forward two months and this morning a lot of these undervalued staff members resigned. What turned out to be a cost cutting exercise has turned into a total disaster. The ones that accepted the packages have now cherry picked and head hunted who was left to join them in their new companies. In the period of just over two months departments that had experience and know how have nothing left. It is now going to cost them money to head hunt knowledge and experience and most likely eat humble pie.

I know honestly worry for this company as experience like that doesn't grow on trees and the ones that are readily available you probably shouldn't be looking at anyway. This exercise may have ruined this company to the point it won't recover. If it does it will most likely take a few years now. This just shows you what happens in a board room when you have people in charge who shouldn't be there.
