I think I have been more aware of this year than any other of the nearly 8 years I have been on HIVE due to the 4 year crypto cycle which may or may not be a thing anymore. One starts to see milestones differently and definitely not the normal round numbers like 10 or 100, but multiples of 13 being more significant. The plan which most likely will change and is not such a bad thing was to power down a percentage of the stake and convert to HBD. Once the price drops then convert the HBD back to HIVE and do a 3 or 5 or possibly 10 x the stake. This is why the 13 multiples become important and most likely why I see the 13 as HIVE's round number. The hope is now this current cycle is extended and will allow for a longer period to grow which ultimately will benefit the power down amount and with the converting between HBD and back to HIVE the growth will be far bigger. Everyone sees their crypto investments in different ways and do honestly believe HIVE is so different from any other investment because it is so personal. HIVE in many ways is a piece of you as it takes your personal time to grow by staying active. March next year will be my 8 year HIVE anniversary and I am still yet to have sold any HIVE to benefit in the real world. I understand others have had to due to life's circumstances and I have just been fortunate enough to not have to rely on HIVE. HIVE in my view has always been a long term investment that can be grown and at some point in the future would be a passive income provider. Until that happens the focus has to be on growth and that includes using the power down when the cycle allows the conversions to HBD and back to be profitable.

HIVE stake is what allows you to think like this and your HIVE journey does change positively over time as stake helps grow more stake via the likes of compounding. The current HIVE APR is insanely high at 3.61% when you think back it used to hover around 3% which in my case that 0.61% difference is worth an extra 3 HIVE per day in earnings. One has to look at the crypto cycle whatever time frame that maybe as an opportunity to benefit as much as possible. The delay if this is indeed a delay has to be seen as a positive and not a negative to help further more growth on all your crypto investments if you have more than one besides HIVE. That may sound kind of weird but for the first 4 years on HIVE I only had HIVE and had not looked to expand the portfolio. Over time with a knowledge and understanding your thinking does change.
