Mailchimp has recently joined the ranks of Google, Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn and Snapchat in banning certain content related to cryptocurrencies. [Specifically](https://twitter.com/MailChimp/status/979464730430529536), they are targeting all content related to selling, trading, storing or marketing cryptocurrencies.
Doubtless, businesses have the right of free association, and they can set up restrictions of use for their products, but the broad brush with which cryptocurrencies are being dealt with across the boards has the look of undue censorship. As Antonopolous and many others have pointed out:

It is not simply the scam ICO advertisers who are getting banned and deplatformed, but also people exercising free speech and discussing the wonderful new opportunities relating to this new technology. This broad-stroke censorship illustrates perfectly the need for decentralization on the web and in the financial sector at large. An entire online community with shared interest should not be dependent on a centraliced service provider that can shut down their platform at will, with no general consensus on part of the community.
