Great video from Andreas Antonopoulos! He is a huge Bitcoin evangelist and tech geek who speaks all over the world about tech innovation. In this video, he talks about how the internet changed when large corporations and big institutional money got involved. I think he's right. For example, when YouTube first came out, people could post whatever they wanted. It wasn't regulated at all. Content creators weren't flagged for cursing or their content. Now, YouTube controls what videos are seen and not seen. If they deem your video to be violating music copyrights, they will either take your video down or bury it so deep that you won't easily be found. One channel that I follow, Decentralized TV, is always getting flagged or blocked because he talks about revolutionary topics that go against mainstream media and the status quo. I think Andreas Antonopoulos is addressing the shift that is happening in Crypto World. As regulations come in, we may see crypto becoming more "corporate." This may not always be a good thing, because as history has shown, this can also stifle innovation. I believe he is also addressing all the corporations that want blockchain technology but don't want cryptocurrency. Andreas states that what makes Bitcoin and other cryptos like Bitcoin so innovative, is the decentralized, public, and open ecosystem, that cannot be controlled by any one institution. Corporations want to keep things centralized because they can control it, and therefore, control who gets to have larger and smaller pieces of the pie. I am curious as to what the future has in store for crypto. Here's to "Keeping it Weird!"
