In 1913, H.G. Wells wrote "The World Set Free," a frighteningly prescient established of predictions concerning the development of technology.

Published at the beginning of the year 1914, this lean volume called it precisely right on the coming supremacy of aircraft in combat, the ways armies would settle in (or not) and even part of the geopolitical insinuations. Most astonishingly, Wells also forecasted that atomic bombs would shortly be dropped from the air on inhabitant populations and that this would alter everything.
