## Giving you all a status update on THE WOODEN COMPUTER I've gotten some requests for specs and such.. This post is gunna be a bit longer and more detailed for yall! First things first, I've gotta say.. ## I appreciate all the love for my part 1 of THE WOODEN COMPUTER https://steemit.com/cryptocurrency/@cryptoindestment/building-my-mining-rig-part-1-construction-the-wooden-computer It was amazing waking up to this the next morning ### So lets pick right up where we left off In the last post I still needed to secure the motherboard to the frame, plug it up and do some sort of piss poor cable management. First thing I did was find out where I wanted my mother board stand-offs. I positioned my mother board where I wanted it secured and marked the holes. I then removed the mother board and drilled holes through the first layer of wood, and into the second. Then I had to remove the top boards so I could place the bolt and washers through. Before reinstalling the boards, I drilled out the second layer of woods holes, LARGER than the bolts head. This way the bolt and washer will sit flush once reinstalled. > This is the bolts head easily fitting into the larger drilled hole. I Then placed the bolt with one washer, through the holes I drilled, and secured it with another washer and a nut. Now that the construction was done I placed a Nylon spacer on the four bolts I installed. This is to allow the mother board to float and not make contact. I then carefully seated my mother board on the 4 standoffs (bolts with nylon spacers.) I secured it with another nylon spacer then a nut. Only concern I have with these ghetto stand offs is they're nylon and nylon is Not ESD compliant.. I really want rubber spacers and will be switching them out as soon as I can. I then wired woody up, and used the rubberized turn in screw hooks to hold my cables all janky looking. ## And heres he is.. >Please note, this is not his final home (Right in front of that highly flammable tapestry). Also this is not the final product of cable management as I just wanted to get it operational at the moment. ## SO WHATS UNDER THE HOOD!? # Here's what I've got installed on 'ol woody' * (GPUS) 3 AMD sapphire nitro 370's (AMD Radon R7 370 series) * (Mom Board) ASRock Z97 Extreme 4 * (PSU) Ev3A Supernova 80 gold plus * (CPU) Intel Pentium G3220 >Here's the overview tab. # NOTE THE "RADEON SOFTWARE VERSION" number 15.12 I'll come back to why that's important in a minute # FOR THE SOFTWARE * (GPU drivers) AMD software version 15.12 * (System monitoring) MSI Afterburner * (Wallet Zclassic) Eleos * (Mining software) Claymores These are the instructions I followed for setting up the miner. https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1670733.0 Also this was the pool I chose. I cannot yet give an endorsement to this pool as I have not done my homework, I just got it set up. https://zcl.suprnova.cc/ Therefore my text file was base around this >GPU_FORCE_64BIT_PTR 1 GPU_MAX_HEAP_SIZE 100 GPU_USE_SYNC_OBJECTS 1 GPU_MAX_ALLOC_PERCENT 100 GPU_SINGLE_ALLOC_PERCENT 100 ZecMiner64.exe -zpool zec.suprnova.cc:2142 -zwal YourLogin.YourWorkerName -zpsw YourWorkerPassword If your looking for resources on how to get this going, I can recommend a few youtube videos >[Resource1](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dzf1WTufqXE) [Resource2](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pzxhqRLc2x8) [Resourece3](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MH5kATvIUw4) ## HERE's WHY GPU DRIVER VERSION 15.12 IS IMPORTANT as well as setting your virtual memory to 16 gb. > note the low hashes. This is before I downgraded my GPU drivers from the latest and greatest to 15.12 and changed my Virtual memory. ### You ready for the difference? ### That's almost double the hashes! Were off to the races boys, Stay tuned for the next update. I'll be showing you the potential profits to be made with real examples. Also why I chose mining Zclassic over other coins. I'll also, then, be able to give a little bit of a review on the pool and wallet I'm using. ### A few other upgrades to woody that will hopefully be in the next WOODEN COMPUTER update * Better cable management * Additional fan with filter * A new home for woody (aka off my desk) * RUBBER FRIGGIN STANDOFFS (DON'T FORGET THIS DEST) * Wireless adapter and Remote viewing Thank you for reading! ## Let me know what you guys think below >or if I muffed anything up! ## *-Dest* P.S.
