- **Education** : this has proved to be another major obstacle to the adoption and use of the blockchain technology. Most individuals and industries do not know really know the benefits and uses of the blockchain technology and this can generally be an obstacle as they would not be able to adopt something they do not know. Also, most individuals have a misconceived idea of the benefits of the technology. Also, lack of awareness of the relevance of the blockchain technology is another problem that must be solved if the blockchain technology must be adopted worldwide. 

- **Lack of urgency in adopting the blockchain technology** : individuals in developed countries make use of non-blockchain platforms because there is no urgency or need to use the blockchain technology. For companies, the time and resources that would be put into overhauling their current system and replacing it with the blockchain technology. 

- **Cost** : the cost of overhauling the present system and replacing it with the blockchain technology for companies is expensive and could also pose to be a threat to the general adoption of the technology. The blockchain technology can be used in all industries, but the cost of adopting and managing this technology is outrageous and that is why most middle classed organizations have not been able to adopt and begin using this technology to improve the efficiency of their organization. 

These obstacles mentioned above are some of the main problems of the blockchain technology. In order to solve these problems, especially that of education, an awareness campaign must be carried out to ensure that more individuals and organizations realize the benefits of this technology. It is recorded that the lack of awareness is the main obstacle of the adoption of the technology, so this problem must be solved and those with mixed ideas should be clarified as regards to the main benefits and features of the technology.
