# Splinterland Homesteading: The Praetorian Shuffle

Greetings everyone and welcome to another SplinterLANDS post (see what I did there). Today I'm going to talk about my personal experience with land and it's recent changes, and I'm not necessarily thrilled about all of them. A lot of my land wasn't really arranged or formatted for producing the right materials to actually harvest the SPS mining plots so I had to rearrange things and get some new cores, stake some more DEC, and scoop some more penny cards. I'm just lucky I didn't double down as much as some users, so it was easier to actually acquire the resources necessary to at least begin production on the resources I needed to begin harvesting SPS again. Ended up putting about 80ish USD back into land to get it running again (albeit much more slowly than before but still enough to accomplish my end goals). I would still like to nab a node and start a guild with reasonably leveled buildings so I'm in a nice spot to "hurry up and wait" for a potential uptick during a bull market. It may never happen but even just sitting on it would drip me a reliable income stream to use on HIVE to powerup or even just to gradually fill out my splinterlands plots for a greater resource gain.

# The Goalposts keep moving, will they stop?

Something I have noticed about the land experience is that the goal posts continue to move and require more and more of resource sink to operate, it genuinely makes me question whether I should cut my losses here with land or not. To top it all off a lot of the vague language around land with things like "discovered land" or "current land plots" implies that they are likely to sell additional land plots in the future and devalue every current landplot aswell. Nodes are likely to not have as much "goalpost moving" so I'm genuinely considering exchanging some plots for a node to have a more reliable  passive Splinterlands engagement strategy. Particularly now that survival has been removed from the game for the time being. I don't know if the land goal posts will ever stop moving if I'm honest with myself. Will there be more resources that need to be farmed? New land sold? It's all up in the air so I'm not really racing to try and vest more into this.

# I am, Ironman: Plot Distribution Analysis

Iron, so much iron. My god I don't really know what to do with it. Thankfully out of the 3 resources this one is the most sought after to engage in SPS mining and requires the LEAST to actually effectively manage your plots. It seems stone and wood are more readily available in other regions, but Bakerdire  allows me to potentially become a bit of an "iron mogul" and potentially leverage it for the other resources. I currently have only a few plots running iron, wood, and I have 1 plot in a completely different region harvesting stone. I am considering selling the extra plot as the transport fees on the grain to send it there are just barely within my generation threshold. Bakerdire is an iron mining colony, and iron seems to be the most scarce resource so I will likely be able to leverage it for the other materials I need to harvest SPS. I got pretty lucky as it turns out (for the time being), but all of it can change in a heartbeat to be different overtime. I am not really a fan of moving goalposts, so I won't chase them. However, I WILL use my iron leverage to the best of my ability.

# Talking Tidbits: Bakerdire Brigands 

This land experience has taught me that I should run a Splinterlands guild with my next "wad of extra loot" acquired from this game. It's my next direction in Splinterlands now that we are in a downtime in the bear market it is a perfect time to build up an attractive onboarding experience while prices are cheap and the spotlight isn't here. Will it ever come back? Who knows but I want full control and autonomy over the experience for those I bring into this space. No weirdness, no scams, no harrassment, just good vibes. And that's the end goal here. I will post again about land production and my further Splinterlands developments, despite Survival being unavailable so my gameplay isn't really that heavy atm. Thanks for all the continued support everyone, you all are what makes HIVE worth posting on. Thanks for the view, the comment, the like, hell even just glancing at it.
