<html> <p><img src="https://image.ibb.co/eG5CEx/oie_g_FAC9_Ki_Vy_EWD_2.png" width="159" height="43"/><strong>My third and first "real" post in my 'story' needs to be prefaced with a small confession.</strong></p> <p>My hatred for banks was, strictly speaking, not the <em>ONLY</em> reason I originally got into Bitcoin...<br> In fact - initially - the ideological basis had very little to do, with my introduction to, and adoption of Bitcoin at all.</p> <p>And even though my hatred for centralized banking is the main reason for my belief in Bitcoin, and the reason I'm still heavily invested in it today, it was not my initial motivation behind getting in at first - the so called <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Deep_web">Deep Web</a> was.</p> <p>In 2012, I was faced with a sudden, unexpected reason to explore certain DeepWeb markets.<br> I won't mention the name of the specific market I ended up using, but if you're reading this, I imagine you wouldn't really need me to. ;)</p> <p>As I very quickly realized - if I wanted to use this market, I would need to get at considerable amount of Bitcoin, given the price at the time. So after a few sceptical onboarding sessions, on very basic P2P escrow sites and very "weird" OTC trades... I finally got my hands on all the bitcoin I needed.</p> <p>But as it sometimes go with Bitcoin, in the time it had taken me to aquire all the Bitcoin I needed, the price had gone up - and over time, the amount of coins, that I had originally calculated with, now exceeded the necessary amount - by a fair amount.</p> <p>So after purchasing what I had needed on the market, I looked at the remaining coins and remember thinking... <em>"This might actually be something really, really special";</em> so I stashed the remaining coins on a few paper wallets, and stuck them in the back of my safe and back-up locations.</p> <p>From there on out, whenever I needed to use Bitcoin, I would buy it at spot and spend it immediately, to avoid to much volatilaty in the market - and usually, to be honest, I always bought a little bit more than I needed from that point as well. ;D</p> <p><img src="https://image.ibb.co/cVvEBc/oie_824641o_C9d_Is_N_1.png" width="72" height="72"/>But THAT is the actual story behind how I aquired my first bag of Bitcoins, and to this day, I have rarely touched it at all.</p> <p><em>To be continued...</em></p> <p><code><strong>Brevity is the soul of wit - and longewity the soul of the contemplative!<br> <br> </strong></code><a href="https://steemit.com/introduceyourself/@cryptos17/0-0-wh0-4m-1">#0.1 - Who am I, and how did I get here?
