> ***"Cogito, ergo sum"** — I think; therefore, I am/I exist.* I think. If I think, a thought exists, at least conceptually, at least as an illusion. So we have a thought. Let's keep that thought in our enumeration wallet. Since there is something that I _at least_ have the illusion of seeing, this imaginary or real _thing_ that I'm imagining exists at least conceptually. We then have the concept of the imagined. *I think; therefore, there is a thought; therefore, the thought exists and the object of which I thought exists. Something exists.* <center>This apple exists.</center> I think that I am _me_. I exist at least as an illusion of identity. Just as I think of a thing, when I think that _I think_, I'm assigning myself the role of "me". Therefore, I exist at least as an illusion of identity. Identity is conceptual in the beginning: identity is not something concrete, it's something created by ourselves, a pattern set by the human language and mind. But it exists at least as a concept and an illusion, regardless of what is actually real, whether I'm part of a collective mind or a wandering thought not really here, the identity of _me_, and this particular identity of me exists in an abstract form. I think that I think; therefore, there is a concept of me. I exist because I think that I exist. And the "I" in that sentence exists too, not only as a letter but as a written identity, separated by the rest of the contexts in which it is possible. The reader's "I" will be their own identity and their illusion of what my identity is. It is the illusion of what I think the reader's identity will be when they read it, when the readers think of other readers reading it, etc. Every word carries every meaning, not at the same time but at the time when it is mentally associated by each reader with each of its meanings. But it also holds them all at the same time conceptually, in the page of a dictionary and anywhere where the meanings were written down. <center>I exist.</center> > I think; therefore, I exist *I think; therefore, there is a thought. Therefore, the thought exists and the object of which I thought exists. Something exists. I think that I think. Therefore, the concept of me exists.* I think, and since there is a thought, since there is something that I _at least_ have the illusion that I see, this imaginary or real _thing_ that I'm imagining exists at least as a concept, as an idea, as something perceived by me or my illusion of me. I think; therefore, there is a thought; therefore, the thought exists; therefore, something exists. I think that I am me; therefore, I exist at least as an illusion of identity. But identity is conceptual at the beginning, so no matter whether I'm part of a collective mind, at the moment of thinking this, I think that I am me, one person, _me_. > I think; therefore, I exist. *A thought exists. The thing I think of exists. My illusion of myself exists. The words, the language, the concept of existing, they all exist because they are things we think of, and they exist conceptually. Everything exists. Even unicorns and goats.* <br> This post is preparation for a bigger one later. I knew that this point needed to be explained before I tackled some more complex stuff. If you take something away from this, I'd like it to be the realisation that there is nothing that we can truly know except for the fact that we exist as a concept and everything we think of exists at least as a concept.
