*When will onboarding to Hive become seamless?*

That seems like the million-dollar question.

I feel that the complication in confronting new Hive users are: 
1. setting up of account
2. buying Hive to power up
3. understanding how things work in Hive
4. getting significant-enough rewards soon enough.

*Any of these can easily make one give up on Hive*. 

Most people would stop at the setting-it-up stage if the process is perceived to be difficult. When they realize they have to find ways to buy Hive to power up else the account won't have enough power, they can get discouraged. Even if they come that far, the game rules of Hive can be daunting. Lastly, if they are not getting enough rewards from their activity in Hive, they could still throw in the towel.

*What can be done to eradicate these issues?*

In my mind, I think some kind of **phone app game** could be helpful.

That is, Hive is not marketed to these new users as Hive the blogging-to-earn platform, but as some kind of play-to-earn app, and learn-to-earn app combined. It has to be fun, of course, though I don't yet have the full picture how that would look like. Just some preliminary ideas.

This is how it works. 

When new users download the app, a Hive account could be automatically created alongside a small amount of Hive. This is assuming there is a fee collected for downloading the app. The cost of the account and Hive can be defrayed with it.

Now, before the new Hive user can go on further, he/she would have to go through some learning activity, which indirectly results in posts on the Hive blockchain. These posts could, of course, receive curation and the new Hive users can earn new Hive after 7 days. Getting to see that earnings come in so quickly would give the new Hiver the high! 

The learning activities would encompass the ins and out of the Hive blockchain, including the history, introductions of communities, etiquette, reward mechanism, and whatnot. Basically learning how to be a successful Hiver from the very start.

I would imagine, the app can also feature games that are related to testing the understanding of Hive, say through quizzes, or even simply having an Actifit feature within it. Including a photography contest within the app is not a bad idea, if the photos can go directly to the Hive blockchain as posts. The sky's the limit once the imagination is let loose. I leave the fun to you.

Alright, this might not come true if no one acts on it. Or it's not feasible. Or it might already be in the system somewhere. I don't know. But whatever it is, the solution has to deal with the four issues described above head-on.
