[Steemleo](https://www.steemleo.com) is one of the most promising tribes on the Steem platform. It is a tribe which [focuses on investing](https://www.steemleo.com/steemleo/@noleo4u/steemleo-tag-abuse-or-why-you-ll-start-seeing-flags-on-steemleo-content) and according to them,
>Steemleo content is not just about buying/selling and talking about the specific things that you’re buying. This is a place for philosophical discussion. For ethical discussions. For discussion of fundamentals and investment ideals. Value investing and more.

As long as your post is somewhat remotely related to investing, I think it should be safe to tag it to the Steemleo tribe. Therefore, general topics such as economics, geopolitical situations that might affect markets, investment techniques and etc, will all  be relevant to Steemleo. At least that is what I think :)

### Crypto Fantasy League

Recently, while browsing the Steem platform, I found out that Steemleo is runing a ["Crypto Fantasy League"](https://steempeak.com/cryptofantasyleague/@steem.leo/steemleo-s-crypto-fantasy-league-week-4-winners). It is basically a game in which players will paper trade cryptos and at the end of the day, they will be ranked according to net gains. I am not exactly sure how many rounds it has been, it seems to be week 6th or 7th already, but I took some time to participate in one which just ended.

To my surprise, I was ranked first for this round! I think I got lucky as my portfolio for this game was heavy on altcoins, like Ethereum, and hence, I benefited a lot from last week's alts pump. 

### Joining the game

The game is fully hosted on [Steemleo's Discord server](https://discord.gg/3Y5MST). There is a fee of 10 LEO to play which I think goes to the prize pool. As far as I know, top 3 winners will get a share of the prize pool and part of the pool is burnt each week. 

When you are registered for the game, you start off with $10,000 portfolio in USD. There is a fixed list of tradeable cryptos. It is not a long list but most of the commonly traded cryptos are there and of course STEEM is also available.

Each game last for 1 week, you can do as many trades as you like during the competition time but there is a 1% fee for each sell trade. You have to run some basic commands in the Discord channel to make actions (e.g. buy, sell, check prices and portfolio).  It might be a little bit of a learning curve for some, but you should be able to get all the help you need by "shouting" in the channel :)

### Final thoughts

Overall, it was an enjoyable experience. I think this is a nice initiative for Steemleo as participating in the game requires 10 LEO tokens, which adds a little utility to the token. As more players start to play this game, more LEO tokens will be burnt and potentially this might be a substantial sink for the token. 

So I have again registered for this week's game. Because of a dip in the crypto market, quite a few of the players are already in the loss. As the game duration is only 1 week, timing the market is quite important (though nobody can really do that well). Hence, my strategy this week is more to stick on the sideline and wait for some kind of trend reversal before I make some buy trades. Let's see how it plays out :)
