Greetings, Fabulous Felines and Hoomans of Hivelandia and surrounding communities! Hope this week has been treating you kindly, so far!

As you can see, Smudge is very fond of crystals! She's trying out the whole Meditation thing, next to the Hoomans's very large crystal geode. 

Mostly, though, she just likes how warm the black ottoman footstool gets, in the afternoon sun. It has become one of her favorite afternoon nap spots.

As for me, my favorite afternoon nap spot is my tall kitty tower. I like it, because it is in a corner with windows on two sides.

The only annoying thing is that the Hoomans occasionally "use" it as a platform for photography *"because the light is really good!"* The nerve... that's *my* spot!

I usually manage to discourage such activity by having a vigorous scratching session, which shakes everything up nicely... and they soon enough give up!

Besides, I really like scratching this particular tower... the rough sisal matting gives me a good grip, and it helps stretch my back out nicely. Oh! And it also means I don't have to endure occasional nail trimmings! Not in a *bad* way, of course, the Hoomans just nip off the very *tips* of my claws so they don't get caught in the carpet, or on the furniture.

## *Afternoon Sunshine!*

The late afternoon sunshine is definitely my favorite!

It's not quite as harsh and hot as the middle of the day, and the spot in the corner gives me an excellent view of the comings and goings outside, as the birds and other small animals *we have a lot of bunnies and deer)* wind down their day, and sometimes come by, *right* in front of me.

Would I like to chase them? Sure! But on the balance, I am very happy to be an *indoor* cat, most of the time!

## *Slow and Steady Does It!*

No, I'm not referring to *cats,* now... but to the Cryptosphere!

Although I have no great fortune here, I still like to follow along in what's happening in the world, and what's happening to the price of our Hive token! It's great to see that we are hanging on to the 60-cent level, after the recent spike. 

It's my somewhat secret ambition to keep busy here until my little blog not only reaches 5,000 Hive Power, but I become *"A cat who's also a dolphin."* Yes, I know, it sounds a bit corny... but you have to have a goal to shoot for! 

Currently, it takes about 5,500 HP to become a Dolphin. 

For now, though, I'm just going to take it one day at a time; one *post* at a time!
