In the past year, I attended several conferences. In some cases as presenter, and some cases as an attendee. It was really motivating, how I see the audience's curiosity about the topic. Of course most of the audience is interested because of the Bitcoin price rally, but we always tell, Blockchain is not equal Bitcoin. Blockchain has much more to do.

The conclusion which I realised after these conferences, there is no single truth about Blockchain. Maybe over time, they will converge to one platform, but in the next few years no chance for a universal solution. For this reason I think there is a need for an industrial common solution which will connect these services.

Last night, when I woke up, I realised the needed form:

"We need Blockchain Naming Service"

This Blockchain naming service should work like the DNS in the internet today. If we want fancy thing, we can create a blockchain, which will handle the Blockchain network registrations decentralised.

It should point to a load balanced, DDOS protected RESTful API, which serves the following functions:

gives back the last block: GET_LAST_BLOCK
gives back the transactions of an address: GET_TRANSACTIONS
get transaction by ID: GET_TRANSACTION_BY_ID
get block transactions: GET_BLOCK_TRANSACTIONS
create transaction: CREATE_TRANSACTION
Ideally they can provide also a websocket interface, which we can subscribe for new blocks.

With this kind of service naming, we could reference from one blockchain to another with universal naming. This can be a solution to even reference from one blockchain's smart contract to another blockchain's events. An example url would like this:

blockchain://ethereum/tx/0x06394193f8ea119f20372e43c0532de2bb4a4880f74e8a344b006e594d0740af

I think this will be a key solution in future Blockchain ecosystem. I hope soon I will see an appearance of this solution in the infrastructure projects, and we will have a decentralised naming solution which will connect every blockchain solution.

I would be also curious about steemit core developers, what they think about this need ?
Maybe we can start this initiative. I would be open to do this in an open community!
