# What is Ælf (ELF)?

Ælf is a highly efficient and customizable Blockchain, similar to what Linux is in the world of operating systems. It will provide a Kernel with fundamental functions of a Blockchain system. In order to be able to interact with the OS, Ælf will include a "shell" as primary interface.

Furthermore Ælf uses messaging to interact with Bitcoin, Ethereum and other Blockchain systems allowing the sharing of digital assets, users and information.

Ælf doesn't consist of only one Main Chain but also multiple Side Chains to reduce traffic and accelerate transaction speed and improve efficiency. The Main Chain acts as backbone of the eco-system while being connected to multi-layered Side Chains. By implementing adapters, a connection to existing Blockchains can be established. Every deployed contract possesses its own Side Chain, introducing an easy to manage data structure.

Currently Ælf is a ERC20-based token but as soon as the Main Chain is released, all ERC20-based tokens will be converted to Ælf's own currency. The maximum supply is 1,000,000,000 tokens and the circulating supply is 260,000,000.

ELF's value has steadily increased in the last few weeks, even surviving Bitcoin's downfall (almost) without a scratch. It was one of the first altcoins to recover afterwards.

# How does the bounty program work?

During the bounty program you have to earn points. This can be done by completing assignments listed on the bounty page. The amount of earned points is then used to calculate the amount of ELF you will receive. The total amount of daily rewards for all participants each time window is 1000 ELF and each time window equals 24 hours. At the end of each time window points and earned ELF will be tallied and added to your reward history. Withdrawal of ELF will be available one month after earning.

Another way to earn points is by building a network of referred people. The only way to enter the bounty program is through an invite link. Invited people will be added to your network and you will additionally receive a certain percentage of the earned ELF of the referred member depending on his level in the hierarchy. That means, if you refer a member you'll receive commission for his actions. And if the member you referred, invites another user, you'll receive commission for both of them.
