Welcome to my **Travel Tip** series where I promote some of the most beautiful places, interesting landmarks and impressive architectural sites of my homeland, the **Czech Republic**.

Today, I will show you one of the most iconic and photographed landmarks of Prague, the famous **Prague Astronomical Clock**.

Mounted on the southern wall of the **Old Town Hall** located on the **Old Town Square** in the historic center of Prague, the **Prague Astronomical Clock** is a beautifully decorated medieval atronomical clock whose origins date back to 1410. 

Throughout its more than 600-year old history, the clock has been modified, damaged and repaired many times but it always emerged fully functioning again, even after being damaged by German soldiers during the World War II.

There are many myths and legends surrounding the clock with the most famous one having that when the clock stops running for good, the country will be thrown into war, decline and suffering.

Whether the legend is true or not, tourists from all over the world love the **Prague Astronomical Clock** as masses of them gather in front of the Old Town Hall every hour to see the fascinating display with the **Apostles**, the **Death** and other figures moving inside the clock. 

If you want to enjoy this spectacle more closely, you can book a ticket to the Old Town Hall and watch the performance directly from the tower.
