<center><h1>100 Days of Poetry Challenge -----Update [Day 1]-----</h1></h1></center> ___  ___  ___ <center><h2>Introduction</h2></center> Hello all! The challenge is now begun as of 6 PM GMT and we are now closed to new registrants! Thank you for those who reached out to offer their assistance— <h3>Now I know I'm definitely gonna need help with this!</h3> For all offering to help out with the curation process and keeping track of everything, I will get to you ASAP. For now I still have to slowly go through each of the 130+ blogs and make sure the basic directions are being followed and to try to discern what skill category to place everyone in. ___  ___ <center><h2>Changes to challenge operation & reminders</h2></center> Bilingual posts are now optional, not required. I still recommend writing in one's mother tongue, if possible. **However,** as this is an English poetry challenge (if I was fluent in other tongues it might be otherwise) I must see the English form. I saw a few posts in only other languages, and this is not an acceptable entry. Please do not forget to add the day # in each of your posts. Many poets did not tell me whether they considered themselves beginner, intermediate or advanced. I need this information to start getting more assistance in managing this challenge. *(Note: I reserve the right to place you otherwise or change your category throughout the course of the challenge.)* The level is less about amount of time writing poetry (though that is a factor) and more about your facility in conveying your feelings and thoughts to the reader. Keep in mind you may be placed in a lower category than you write in your main language since the challenge is focused on English. I also saw a couple people writing fiction stories. That is fine, but does not qualify for this challenge. This is specifically for poetry, not for prose. ___  ____ <center><h2>Winners</h2></center> The first winners will be decided and announced in tomorrow's update post. I also hope to announce them at 7 PM GMT in our hour long poetry class in the Steemit School discord, but no guarantees there because I still have a huge amount of posts to get through before then. ___  ___ <center><h2>Class recap</h2></center> We held our first poetry class earlier today at 7PM GMT! Thanks for coming, everyone. This was a rather broad one, but we touched on the purpose of metaphor, using "long words," culture-specific content and its consequences, how to know what to write about, "What is poetry?", how to improve our skills and get inspired by reading other writing (not only poetry) and heard from some other poets in class. It was a great session! For tomorrow, the theme of class will be "What is poetry?" because I feel we still need to remain on the level of simplest fundamentals. Please think about your personal perspective on this. I wish to hear many different answers to this query. Also, let's talk about "What is your poetic process?" This will be a very exciting and open-ended discussion. Look forward to seeing you there! ___  ___ <center><h2>Workshops</h2></center> No workshops are currently announced. If you are interested in holding one in the future, please let me know! First week will be quite hectic but after things settle down a bit we will have many opportunities for holding events. ___  ___ <center><h2>Thank you for your entries!</h2></center> I've really enjoyed reading the pieces that I have so far. We have such diversity in style, skill level, and all other aspects that it's quite amazing! Bear with me as I do my best to get through all the pieces. If you message or comment me and I do not respond, please realize I am dealing with a massive amount of correspondence and am doing the best I can, but I definitely miss many messages. Just be persistent and I will get to it, or think if it is something another admin of the Steemit School discord can answer.
