Let's do this in order and I hope I don't get too pedantic or digress too wildly.

Entropy is a theory I do not subscribe in. It is rooted in Big Bang mythology which obviously I have issues with as well.  I could ramble on this one point alone, but I shall refrain.  Energy is neither created or destroyed, it can only be converted.  Thermodynamic law #1(TL1).

I disagree with Mr Rifkin, I see no association with the rise of our use of energy and fascism and would suggest it is quite the opposite.  The more energy we use suggests the more abundance we have, less abundance indicates less energy.  The rise in fascism that we have been witnessing in the world is multifaceted but largely is being driven by poverty, immigration and lack of work.  For clarity, I am not against immigration I myself am an immigrant to Canada, but what is happening in Europe is being driven by the psychopathic oligarchs attempting to set up a Hegelian dialectic.  Immigrants from wartorn countries and who is doing the warring.  It has long been known that this is the MO of the international cabal of bankers led by the Rothchild family.  By driving these immigrants into Europe en masse, they are destabilizing the European countries.  Lack of work leaves too many frustrated and again they need an outlet for their anger and fascism tends to appeal to this anger. These divides weaken a society, ergo why I am so against ideology as it is divisive and in many instances a tool of the oligarchs.

Energy is effectively infinite.  The problem is the means to assess it is being kept from us, or more appropriately, the science that would allow us to develop such means of collection are being kept from us via the standard model and Einsteinian gravity. Not Einstein himself of course but his theory regarding gravity as a prime force in the universe when the electric field is 10^39 times stronger.  This is being done by the propaganda machine of the oligarchs known as mainstream mass media.

The reason for the power elite is primal in some ways, based on a belief that the elite are the alpha while we the masses are gammas.  Most monarchies had the belief that they were chosen by God, thus the crown and its radiating rays representing sun worship(corona) and up to the advent of the Council of Nicea most people were sun worshippers and saw the sun as god and then it was the sun of god until it became the son of God and wisdom was lost.
Up till the 20th century Monarchies ruled, to take them down the banking cabal promoted democracy and then came the French Revolution and off with their heads was the refrain of the day. These monarchs to escape this rising up moved to the new world where they became the heads of industry and capitalism became their mantra as these few controlled the means of production in the burgeoning industrial age over the seemingly endless masses.  But democracy, as predicted by Marx, got away from the oligarchs as everyone wanted a say. 1913 saw the creation of the Fed-Reserve and he who controls the money controls the government. Scarcity became a catch phrase because if people believed a thing was scarce they could charge more for it.

Dark Energy? This is a mathematical construct of a failed paradigm which could not explain what they believe they saw.  Because the standard model neutralizes the electric field because as they like to say, it's "nearly balanced" and this is so wrong.  Energy in a car battery is balanced until one connects the poles to a circuit with a load and voila electric current. I could get all into the science of this as it is something I am very invested in intellectually.  Suffice to say, if a thing is "nearly balanced" then it isn't balanced therefore it has electrical potential and plasma which constitutes 99.6% of the observed universe is highly conductive with very little if any resistance and can form all kinds of things like double-layers(capacitors), plasmoids(better explains black hole phenomena), Birkeland currents(if they pinch form plasmoids).  BTW the search for dark matter has been fruitless, China is quitting the search and new models have come out that do not require dark matter/energy.

BUTTTTT, having said all that. There has been this concept of dark energy for a  long time whether it was the luminiferous aether, space-time fabric or dark energy as attempts to explain things. 

Ask yourself what is energy? And ignore the standard model answer of that which enables work. As it does not explain what energy is, but what it can be used for.  In its simplest, as far as I can tell, energy is merely motion.  But the real question is; what is in motion? All energy fits somewhere on the electromagnetic spectrum, so the only difference between x-rays and radio waves and visible lightwaves is the size of their field and the rate of frequency of their perturbation, their pulse. The faster the frequency the smaller the field the higher the energy. These oscillations imply a wavelike quality and waves require a medium. Since the medium for a water wave is water then the medium for em waves is em and is self-propagating.

Electrogravitics works because gravity is an epiphenomenon of electricity. Yeah, in the 50s they were close to letting the cat out of the bag.

He recognizes that the new power is in information, he who controls the information controls everything. This is an integral aspect of sustainable development( a catchphrase for eugenics and population control) and the "smart economy" which tracks your usage of everything. They, if they are smart enough, will always find ways to maintain their power.  And as long as the masses believe in the elitist right to power, they will maintain their power.  One way that helps them with this is a divided population and ideology supplies the means of self-division from humanity.

I do not really disagree with anything beyond this point. It has many elements that I too consider integral to a healthy society. You have taken ideas from different ideologies and that is what is necessary.  Now, all we have to do is wait till a critical mass of people to wake up.

I want to know who this Rifkin is as he seems like an elitist apologist, with his entropic theory he totally sidesteps history for a theory based somewhat on unproven beliefs. The universe is a closed system, it is infinite and all evidence suggesting otherwise is highly disputable.  

I often wonder how much the elitist had been involved with manipulating the science of a century ago.  I have heard rumours that are quite damning of Einstein and many of the other at the Solvay Conference who saddled us with the questionable science of quantum theory. It all begins by uniting regardless of our differences, but, ideology prevents such unity.
