Another season has ended in Splinterlands, and that's great news for me because I can finally play ranked battles again.

I play in the Wild format, so I was waiting for the season to end because, in my opinion, it wasn't worth paying 2000 DEC for the battle pass with only a few days left. So I waited for a new season to start to buy the battle pass and finally accumulate Glint to get the cards from the new Reward Set.

Before continuing to talk about Splinterlands, let's talk a little about **[Arcade Colony](https://arcadecolony.com/)**.

## Arcade Colony

**Arcade Colony** *is a web-based platform where mainstream games can deploy Web3 features. Newly created games, as well as previously released games, can now add tokens, digital collectibles, trading, renting, earning, and governance to their games. Thus, Arcade Colony hosts a series of published games similar to the Epic Games Store, Apple App Store, Google Play Store, or Steam, but unlike Web2 publishers, Arcade Colony augments new and existing games with Web3 features. Let's get to the main focus of the post, which is Splinterlands and the new season.

My first step was to buy the Battle Pass so I could play in the Wild format. I chose this format because I like the cards from the Chaos Legion edition and in my opinion they are the best options if you want to spend little on renting cards.

I don't have much time to play Splinterlands and that's another reason why the Wild format is perfect for me. I say this because I can use the Xbot on days when I don't have time and thus I don't waste any energy during the season.

**My main focus will be playing battles manually and I will only use the Xbot as a last resort.**

At GWEN'S GLINT SHOP I'll have two main options for spending my Glint:

## Rarity Draws

With this option I'll only receive cards and I can choose their rarity, so this is a great option if your focus is only on getting cards from the new Reward Set.

## Loot Chests

This is a more daring option because you'll depend on luck. You can get cards, potions, energy, Srolls, Fortune Tickets, Merits, and Jackpots.

In my opinion, this is the most fun option, but I haven't decided which option I'll choose yet. First I'll earn the Glint and then I'll think more about how to spend it, but there's a good chance I'll choose the Loot Chests.

I have the battle pass, now I need to rent cards and SPS, so I'll start my ranked battle adventure tomorrow.
