# Stuck in a bad place ๐ŸŒจ

In [No Exit](https://www.imdb.com/title/tt7550014/?ref_=fn_al_tt_1), Darby is a girl living at a recovery center with other drug addicts. She hates it there and always seems to fail with getting sober. She has relapsed multiple times and her family is about finished with all of her terrible decisions. One night she receives a phone call alerting her to the fact that her mother was in the hospital and very well may die soon. She is a patient at the center and they won't let her call to check on her mom or leave to go visit. Darby is forced to sneak out in an effort to go see her mom before she dies.

Darby isn't stupid, but she is far from a genius. She steals a car and hits the road from California towards Salt Lake City, UT. On her way there, a snowstorm begins and it looks like making it all of the ways to Utah just isn't going to be possible. Darby is forced to pull over and wait out the storm at a rest area. When she gets there, four others are also stuck waiting and they are forced to get to know one another.

Darby is desperate to get to her mom, but it seems as though the world just doesn't want it to happen and instead has other plans for her. She is less than two weeks clean from an assortment of hard drugs, which means she probably is still dealing with some wicked withdrawal symptoms. The movie doesn't focus on this, but it is an undeniable fact for anybody who has suffered who knows someone who has dealt with addiction. Darby may look and be feeling pretty rough, but she holds it together pretty well.

Ed and Sandi are dating and Ash and Lars seem to both be there alone. There isn't much to do at the rest area except try to stay warm, talk, and maybe play some cards. Each of the individuals continually goes out into the storm to try and get some cell service, but there is no luck. Darby is out roaming around and stumbles upon the fact that a van out in the parking lot has a little girl tied up in the back of it. It is freezing cold outside and she knows she must figure out a way to help the girl quickly.

Darby isn't sure who the kidnapper is, there are four possible culprits. She takes her time trying to pry out little bits of info to understand who might be the one holding the girl out in the van hostage. She would risk everyone's safety if she were to just ask out loud who is driving the van.

It all gets pretty exciting once it is revealed who the kidnapper(s) is/are. The rest area turns into the setting of a battle between good and evil. There are plenty of twists and turns to keep this one interesting. It snows literally the entire time, so there is no way anybody can escape the terrible situation.

I thought that this was a pretty cool movie. I did however find myself wishing for it to be over towards the end. It all slowed down towards the later parts, but I refused to not figure out what happened. Darby's drug addiction ended up coming in handy eventually, believe it or not. That may not make sense now, but it will once you watch the movie. This whole situation may even be enough to finally get her off of the drugs once and for all. We can only hope.

This movie just came out on Hulu recently, so you can watch it over there if you are interested. I've got the trailer for you below. Enjoy and let me know what you think of this one.
