0.000 HBDExchanges Transfers Report | Deposits and Withdrawals By Date, Accounts and HIVE Balance On Exchanges in 2022
The past year has been a challenging for the crypto industry. The market kept going down for most of the year. One important metric for a crypto project is the amount of coins that is held on exchanges. For example the amount of Bitcoin held on exchanges is closely monitored and its been in the range of 15% to 20%, with a recent lows to 12%? What is the share of the HIVE supply held on exchanges? What is the trend is it going up or down? How has deposited/withdraw the most in 2022? Lets take a look! Here we will be looking at the following: - Daily and monthly deposits to exchanges - Daily and monthly withdrawals from exchanges - Top accounts that deposited to exchanges - Top accounts that withdraw from exchanges - Net deposits VS withdrawals - HIVE balance on exchanges Exchanges taken in the analysis: Upbit, Binance, Bithumb, Bittrex, Hive Engine, Huobi, Gate.io ,Probit, Ionomy, MXC, and Indodax. There are few more exchanges but the volume there is quite low. The period that we will be looking at is 2022. ## Deposits To Exchanges Here is the chart for the **daily** transfers/deposits to exchanges. *Note: Transfers between exchanges accounts are excluded from the data above.* We can notice some spikes in the data above, and the low volume in October. This was around the Hardfork when deposits and withdrawals to the major exchanges were suspended. On an average there have been **300k** HIVE deposited to exchanges in 2022, with occasional spikes to 1M, and lows to 100k. The **monthly** chart for the deposits looks like this. We can see that there is 6M to 13M HIVE deposited to exchanges per month. April and October has seen the lowest volume, close to 6M, while August and November the highest amounts transferred, close to 13M. *Note that these are not NET deposits. To get this we need withdrawals and we will look at those bellow.* ## Withdrawals From Exchanges The chart for the **daily** withdrawals looks like this. As for the above, here as well the transfers between exchanges accounts are excluded. Ona average there has been 250k HIVE withdrawn from exchanges on a daily basis, with spikes up to 1M and dips bellow 100k. The chart for the **monthly** withdrawals looks like this. An oscillation between 4M up to 12M per month. From February to April the numbers have been quite low, around the 4M, and in July and August they went up to 12M. This is a period where the price of HBD went up and there were HIVE to HBD conversions. ## Monthly Net Deposits VS Withdrawals in 2022 When we add the deposits and withdrawals on a **monthly** basis the chart looks like this. As we can see in most of the months in 2022 there was more deposited than withdrawn HIVE from exchanges. Only three are in negative, with July having the most HIVE withdrawn from exchanges, a total of 3M. This is when the price of HBD has increased. November has been the worst with most HIVE deposited, almost 5M. #### In summary a total of 15.3M net HIVE was transferred to exchanges in 2022. As we cab see, overall there was more HIVE deposited to exchanges, then withdrawn in 2022. The previous year, 2021 there was more HIVE withdrawn from exchanges, a total of 2.5M. ## Top Accounts That Deposited To Exchanges in 2022 Who has transferred the most funds to exchanges? Here is the chart for the year. The @hivekorea account is on the top with 4.5M HIVE deposited, followed by @swap2020 and @raws. *Note that this is a net HIVE deposited to exchanges, with both deposits and withdrawals taken into account.* ## Top Accounts That Withdrawn From Exchanges in 2022 Who has withdrawn the most funds from exchanges? Here is the chart for the year. The @alpha account is on the top with 1.9M, followed by @elmerlin and @havegotdreams. Cumulative, in 2022, a total of **32k** accounts have made transfer to and from exchanges. ## HIVE Balance On Exchanges What is the amount of HIVE on exchanges? Here is the chart. As we can see the overall HIVE balance on exchanges has been growing throughout 2022, with some dips in the summer. The year started with 123M HIVE on exchanges and ended with **138M** HIVE. When we plot the balance on the exchanges against the total HIVE supply, we get this. From the chart above we can say that the HIVE balance on exchanges has been growing throughout the year, both in absolute and in relative terms. At first there was a slight decrease in the supply share to around 32%, and then it has been growing slowly and the year ended with **35%** share on exchanges. A 3% increase. **The top exchanges that hold HIVE are the following:** Uobit is abslutly dominant with more than 90M HIVE. On the second spot is Binance with 24M, followed by Bithumb. ---- More HIVE has continued to flow on exchanges in 2022, with Upbit solidifying its number one position. In percent share the growth is not that drastic, a 2% to 3% increase, with a 35% of the total HIVE held on exchanges. Even if we go two years back this number was around 33%. Getting HIVE on more DEXs will be a significant improvement and I hope that this will happen in the future as more second layer solutions are built on HIVE, but also expanding HIVE to other smart contract platforms and apps like Uniswap. There is a multisig project that is build and funded by the DHF, that can facilitate this. If we have a **decentralized bridge** for HIVE to DEXs on Ethereum, BSC, Polygon, etc, then if in need, we can incentivize liquidity pools with HDB from the DHF and we can solve the biggest risk for HIVE atm.
