[Liketu](https://www.liketu.com/) has been one of the Hive dapps that has been quietly but consistently building their product for the past few years. In the last period they seem to be gaining more and more traction and keeps growing their user base.   

Let’s take a look at some of the data.

As mentioned, Liketu has a focus on photos. Users can share their photos, make some commentary, and earn rewards. Its not a 100% copy of Instagram, as usually users share more than one picture and give a bit more explanation on them. But the frontend is overall with a focus on photos and has a nice UI. 



Here we will take a look at the activity on the platform, the overall number of posts and comments, and the number of users. The top content creators for the last month will be presented as well.

**The period that we will be looking at is 2022 – 2024**.




## Posts

First let us see the number of posts coming from Liketu.

Here is the chart.

We can see the sharp growth at the beginning of 2022, reaching a peak in May 2022 and then a steady growth towards 2023. In the summer of 2023 there was a spike in the posts going up to 250 per day, and then a slow pull back towards the end of the 2023. 
In 2024 we can see a steady growth again with the number of posts reaching 200 per day. 



## Comments


The chart above was only about posts.
What about comments?

Here is the number of comments made per day from Liketu.

Some interesting data here. At first the number of comments on the platform was very low with just a few comments daily. The a sharp incereas in June 2023 with comments going from 10 per day to 600 per day in a short perriod of time. Not sure what happened here, there was probably some incetvies introduced for the numbers to increase as much. A pullback from there and there is now from 100 to 1500 comments daily. 






## Posts and Comments

When we combine the posts and comments on one chart we get this.

We can see the dominance of the posts here especially at first. The in the summer of 2023 the number of comments increased signinfcanty, a pullback later and now we are somewhere around the same number of posts and comments.

The combined data for the number of posts and comments is steadily increasing. 







When we polot the numbers on a **monthly** timeframe we get this.

Here as well we can see the drastic change in the number of comments after May 2023. Cumaltive in the last period there is around 5k monthly posts and 3k comments. This is quite the increase in the numbers from 2022 where the numebrs of posts were around 3k and comments were almost non exisiting. 




## Authors

How about the numbers of the authors on the Liketu. How many accounts are posting?

Here is a chart for the **monthly** numbers of accounts posting.

The number of MAUs on Liketu has also seeing a growth in the period. Starting with just around 200 MAUs back in January 2022, and reaching a 1500 MAUs in August 2023. A drop afterwards, and an steady growth in the first two months of 2024 reaching more than 1k users in February 2024. 





Next the number of unique authors that posted from Liketu. These are authors that posted directly through the frontend.

The number of unique Liketu authors is showing continuous growth. 

There is a total of **5.2k** unique authors that have used Liketu to post. 
In the last month alone, there was 240 new accounts that have tried out the app for the first time. 
 


## Authors That Posted the Most

Here is the rank of the authors that posted the most in the last 30 days.

The top account has posted 40 times in a 30 days period. The next accounts are around 30 posts, meaning around one posts per day. 

 ## Liketu Votes

The main account @liketu is incentivising its users for posting with votes. Its not a guarnited vote for everyone that is using the platform but a lot of users are receiving votes.

We can notice the sharp increase in the number of votes in May 2023. This explains the increase in the number of posts and comments, especially comments. At this point probably some of the comments started to receive votes from the official account. The number of votes increased from 60 per day to 150 per day. It has decreased a bit in the last period but there is still more than 100 votes casted per day from the official account.

The ranking is made by the cumulative vote weight that authors received from @liketu, meaning one vote at 100% is better than 3 votes at 20%.
