With Steem-engine up and running and SMT about to launch it is interesting to think about what areas the Steem blockchain platform will be used. 

I thought I would share some thoughts of a cool idea for an SMT project,  that could effect a big market in a big way. 

The idea I have builds on the concept of Actifit. I really like the idea of this project, but I find that it lacks a structure that will increase investment into Steem.

How would it be if a similar system was developed for all the hundreds of thousands of gyms in the world ? 

What if you create a gym token, that any owner of a gym could implement, and reward your customers with tokens based on their work out progress ? You would incentivize people to work out more, and to join your gym where they would receive tokens based on their participation !

This would help to create more loyalty with your customers and it would help to encourage them to work out ! 

So how would the token actually work ? The app that would be created along with this token, can be customized to recognize your gym and the machines used there, thus measuring your activity accordingly. 

The token would also be able to measure your social activity, where there would be a similar social platform like on Steemit, and also reward you for your social contribution, since this can help to advertise and promote the gym. Their can even be bounty programs for promotional work that can help spread the word of this gym. 

The token can be used to pay for some of your gym fee, you can also use the tokens to pay for things in the health snack bar and so on. Personal trainers could also be more incentivized by receiving the token in an additional form of payment, where they could then sell the tokens to people that want to sign up to the gym. 

All in all you could build an ecosystem and stronger community with the help of this token that would strongly benefit your gym and customers, it’s a win win situation. 

Now how could this help solve the problem of the metric I talked about above ? Well, if a gym wants to use this service, they would make a small ICO, where they have to buy Steem to create their token. But, imagine what would happen if thousands of gym would do an ICO, now that would bring in a lot of money into Steem! 

This is just an idea I have but I think it has real life market potential. I actually posted this idea some time ago, but there was some problem when posting it so I thought I would try again.  Do you have an idea for an SMT, please share !
