What are shares? I can feel you chuckling, is he really serious. Why go back to the ABCs of investing. Maybe you sometimes just have to revisit this ABC because as it seems I I have been flying on the highways for long without truly looking back into this definition. So in a breif summary; owning a portion of a [company](https://inleo.io/@leoglossary/leoglossary-company-business). Is that very hard to do? It could be as I earlier said, if you care less.  

This was not the [article](https://inleo.io/@leoglossary/leoglossary-article) I was planning to put up but as it can be, we will drop the first for the later. This topic as we speak is also important as it breaks not only into the global environment but it also creates individual awareness. [artificial intelligence](https://inleo.io/@leoglossary/leoglossary-artificial-intelligence) will do more.   

How easy it is [NOW](https://inleo.io/@leoglossary/leoglossary-negotiable-order-of-withdrawal-account-now) to [leverage](https://inleo.io/@leoglossary/leoglossary-leverage) through information in the [Internet](https://inleo.io/@leoglossary/leoglossary-internet) [space](https://inleo.io/@leoglossary/leoglossary-space) which is a well of distractions.  

The internet was meant to be a place of getting exactly what you want (maybe this is just my personal suggestion) but it has been full of enticement upon enticement that one forgets the important aspect of it. I am seeing AI [closing](https://inleo.io/@leoglossary/leoglossary-closing) this gap, how? First, AI search is like filtering the internet for what you need, not what is in [stock](https://inleo.io/@leoglossary/leoglossary-stocks).

So what's the most important part of internet presence? I will say it is seizing every [opportunity](https://inleo.io/@leoglossary/leoglossary-opportunity). It was one of those research I was doing and I came to realize there are some national [shares](https://inleo.io/@leoglossary/leoglossary-share-stock) I am undermining till date.   **Ok, most [times](https://inleo.io/@leoglossary/leoglossary-time) our eyes are on the foreign [markets](https://inleo.io/@leoglossary/leoglossary-market), how we can push in the hard [currency](https://inleo.io/@leoglossary/leoglossary-currency). Not bad, but that's not [ALL](https://inleo.io/@leoglossary/leoglossary-all-currency) in all, learn to spread your eggs in many baskets.  

That old saying, ‘sow your [seed](https://inleo.io/@leoglossary/leoglossary-seed) in the morning, do not withdraw your hands in the evening for you do not know which will be profitable, it could be one or both’. Much better if it is both. I was doing such national [investment](https://inleo.io/@leoglossary/leoglossary-investment) opportunity research and I came to realize some national companies that are making waves.   

So I had to ask myself, do I have local shares and do I care for it?. It is one of my newest planned [portfolio](https://inleo.io/@leoglossary/leoglossary-portfolio) collection. I feel I have really been missing out as I keep pursuing the global markets. Who knows what happens within the country in a few [years](https://inleo.io/@leoglossary/leoglossary-year) to come. In [short](https://inleo.io/@leoglossary/leoglossary-short-selling), I saw some national company shares that have performed very well over the years. With the hight rise and demand for [FinTech](https://inleo.io/@leoglossary/leoglossary-fintech) companies, more is expected to unravel.

It is something I have been discussing in many articles, the future will favor those who have shares and better still, if you want to delve into the web3 environment one can say those who have stakes that is paying out [dividends](https://inleo.io/@leoglossary/leoglossary-dividend). The idea here is, currently, many are much more acquainted with shares so I wouldn't want to miss them out in the need for it.  

Be it web2 or web3, my advice to everyone is, learn how to invest. Just start somewhere, make sure you get acquainted with buying into a company's shares and holding it for long. This is no joke, it on the long run pays if you can sit down to DYOR (do your own research) about where you want to fix in your [money](https://inleo.io/@leoglossary/leoglossary-money).  

Shares buying is like working with [professionals](https://inleo.io/@leoglossary/leoglossary-professional) who have gone ahead of you in the [world](https://inleo.io/@leoglossary/leoglossary-world) of [business](https://inleo.io/@leoglossary/leoglossary-business). If all you depend on is your personal business or personal [job](https://inleo.io/@leoglossary/leoglossary-job), you are already very disadvantaged. Even if your business is doing well, take a part of it and invest in other people's businesses.   

To conclude, I will still ask again, do you care for shares? In a world where everything is going virtual and digitalized, I feel it is never too late to start picking some start up companies to commit some of your [funds](https://inleo.io/@leoglossary/leoglossary-fund). When I saw the changes in some Fintech companies within 5 years to a decade I was very impressed. This next question I asked myself was, can this be all? Of course not, we are in our development [stages](https://inleo.io/@leoglossary/leoglossary-stage) as a nation, more is indeed coming.
