Most of us in this area of the country are mostly involved in subsistence [agriculture](https://inleo.io/@leoglossary/leoglossary-agriculture). I told you once my Dad loves agriculture a [lot](https://inleo.io/@leoglossary/leoglossary-lot-commodities). Even if he has aged he still makes sure he doesn't miss out in plantation seasons. The [weather](https://inleo.io/@leoglossary/leoglossary-weather) conditions this [year](https://inleo.io/@leoglossary/leoglossary-year) have been very favorable. The rain just keeps pouring in and raising local farmers hope of a [bounty](https://inleo.io/@leoglossary/leoglossary-bounty) [harvest](https://inleo.io/@leoglossary/leoglossary-harvest). Since the early rain two [months](https://inleo.io/@leoglossary/leoglossary-month) ago, it has been hands on the deck. Dani, have you been to the farm? Na. Oh!! Lazy Dani. Hmmm, it [ALL](https://inleo.io/@leoglossary/leoglossary-all-currency) depends on your views, [work](https://inleo.io/@leoglossary/leoglossary-work) is keeping me on a tight corner.

Not that I actually [love](https://inleo.io/@leoglossary/leoglossary-love) going to the [farm](https://inleo.io/@leoglossary/leoglossary-farms) anyway, maybe this is a means to escaping the entire exercise. Nevertheless, we have to acknowledge the importance of agriculture to our [ecosystem](https://inleo.io/@leoglossary/leoglossary-ecosystem-digital). Whether local or [commercial](https://inleo.io/@leoglossary/leoglossary-commercial-advertising), solving the problem of [food](https://inleo.io/@leoglossary/leoglossary-food) deficiency is a good move. The area of agriculture has been something I have been eyeing but not just a hand to mouth one. You should know me, I love turning things into a big [business](https://inleo.io/@leoglossary/leoglossary-business), that is my vision. I have discussed this severally with my co-partner and the idea was not bad yet we first have to grow the brand we are currently working on.

That's said, so how does all what I am saying relate with the [article](https://inleo.io/@leoglossary/leoglossary-article) tittle above? Just hang in long enough and it will be very crystal clear. As I earlier said, local farmers are on the radar. My Dad happened to do a subsistence maize planting in our compound. The compound is big and my Dad just feels it is a waste to leave a land with neither a [building](https://inleo.io/@leoglossary/leoglossary-building-structure) nor vegetation. He planted maize in the last [week](https://inleo.io/@leoglossary/leoglossary-week) of February or first week of March.

It looked as if nothing was happening, we never saw anything surface until some few [days](https://inleo.io/@leoglossary/leoglossary-day). All of it just sprouted up and I wasn't too concerned anywhere. We have seen such things before but this [time](https://inleo.io/@leoglossary/leoglossary-time) around it has been something very different. There was a time the wind came very strong and it tampered with its rootings. I was still monitoring, this was where I saw resilience. To add here, everything on the surface of the [Earth](https://inleo.io/@leoglossary/leoglossary-earth-planet) has inbuilt resilience only if you will accept that. It was at this point I felt all my Dad's efforts were to no avail.

I had to go over to him and talk about that, what he told me was stunning. Although he was planning of helping raise them back again but he assured me they will get back up by themselves. Everytime I was going out and coming in I was watching to see how this prophesy will be fulfilled. In just a three days time, those plant found their way to stay on their feet and the next week, which is the one we are in , I saw them producing corn. Ah!! When was it planted was my first question. It has been a period within two months.

So what did I learn, looking back at my business, I could remember when it all started some years ago. We are somewhere as we speak. What would have been the fate of my business if I missed the planting season through procrastination. Sometimes I am surprised to know I have stayed in business for five years [NOW](https://inleo.io/@leoglossary/leoglossary-negotiable-order-of-withdrawal-account-now). We are not were we used to be even I personal know about this. At least even with no enough [funds](https://inleo.io/@leoglossary/leoglossary-fund) in my pocket, I can look at something that is capable of generating the needed funds to cope even with a staggering [economy](https://inleo.io/@leoglossary/leoglossary-economy).

To conclude, let me add, the essence of planting is for later and if you fail to understand this secret, you may never start. Seasons come and go. There is always a need to make sure you do not eat [seeds](https://inleo.io/@leoglossary/leoglossary-seed). Assuming my Dad decided to fry those corn for eating, it will have salvaged hunger for a day at most. As I speak, he has many stalks of corn with just one of them capable of replacing the entire planted seeds. Time will always seem far until you cover it. Five years may seem like eternity until you have a week to cover it. So also will ten, twenty and so on years. Love planting in all aspect of your [life](https://inleo.io/@leoglossary/leoglossary-life) and give it the needed time.
