Hi community. Since my last post, the car has remained stable, so to speak, which has allowed me to continue saving money to finally make the necessary repairs. Even though it is working, there might come a time when it stops. However, today, when I was picking up my daughter from school, the car wouldn't start.

>Saludos comunidad, desde mi última publicación el carro se ha mantenido estable, por decirlo de alguna manera, lo cual me ha permitido seguir reuniendo el dinero para por fin hacer las reparaciones que necesita, que aunque está funcionando, puede llegar el momento que deje de hacerlo, sin embargo, el día de hoy al ir por mi hija a la escuela, al subirnos al carro este no quiso encender.

For 1 hour and 30 minutes, I searched for the reason. The most obvious one was the fuel pump because when I turned the key to start, the starter motor activated but the engine didn't start. I noticed that the fuel pump was activating, so I decided to check if there was a spark. I pulled one of the spark plug wires and found there wasn't any spark. I then proceeded to check all the fuses and relays, all in order, and I was running out of ideas.
>Durante 1 hora y 30 minutos estuve buscando la razón, la más obvia era la bomba de gasolina, porque al pasar la llave para encender, el arranque se activaba pero no arrancaba. Note que si se activaba la bomba de gasolina por lo tanto decidí probar si tenía chispa, saque uno de los cables de bujía y al probar no había. Pase a revisar entonces todas los fusibles y reles, todos en orden, ya se me estaban agotando las ideas.

I decided to disconnect the battery cables to dissipate the computer's energy, hoping to clear any registered errors. After a few minutes, I reconnected and tried to start the car, and it did start. I got home, parked, and tried to start it again, but it didn't. Among the things I thought could be causing the issue was the immobilizer. It has an antenna that surrounds the ignition to register if the vehicle's key is being used to start it.

Pasados los minutos conecté y intenté encender y estaba sí arrancó, llegué a casa me estacioné y probé encender nuevamente y no paso. Entre las cosas que pensé que podría ser la causa era el inmovilizador, este tiene una antena que rodea el encendido, a fin de registrar si la llave del vehículo es la que está siendo usada para encenderlo.

I used the small scanner I have to see if it could register the fault. Besides the known issues the car has had for some time, a new one appeared: communication error P1614. Upon investigating the code, it indeed turned out to be a lack of communication with the immobilizer. I cleared the code and began a visual inspection.

Además de las conocidas que ya sabía que el carro presenta desde hace tiempo, apareció una nueva, error de comunicación p1614. Al investigar sobre el código efectivamente se trata de que no hay comunicación con el inmovilizador, borre el código y comencé la inspección visual.

The immobilizer is located under the dashboard, beneath the steering wheel. To try to remove it, I detached the antenna from the ignition and decided to try tightening the connections, as I couldn't stop thinking about how an immobilizer could get damaged—perhaps due to the vehicle's years of use or a corroded wire. To my surprise, just by tightening the connections, the engine started when I tried to start it. I turned it off and on several times, and it worked without problems.
>Este se encuentra dentro del tablero debajo del volante, para intentar sacarlo safe la antena del encendido y quise probar apretando las conexiones, porque no dejaba de pensar como se puede dañar un inmovilizador, será por lo años de uso del vehículo, o algún cable sulfatado. Para mí sorpresa con solo el ajuste de las conexiones al intentar encender, arrancó el motor. Apague y volví a encender varias veces y lo hizo sin problemas.

I'll be monitoring it for a couple of days. If it fails again and tightening the cables makes it start again, I might change the device and have new keys programmed. I hope it's not necessary so I can use all the funds for mechanical repairs.
>Lo voy a estar evaluando un par de días si vuelve a fallar, de ser así y ajustar los cables y vuelve a encender, quizás cambie el dispositivo y mandé a programas nuevas llaves, espero que no sea necesario para poder usar todos los fondos en la parte mecánica.
