Last Friday, we had a nice meetup with a several steemians I wrote about it too and shared how much I enjoy about it. Check out [Steemit Meet up and Philanthropy Initiatives in Borneo](https://steemit.com/meetup/@danieldoughty/steemit-meet-up-and-philanthropy-initiatives-in-borneo) I am happy to also report that the philanthropy project on Don Bosco is underway, it is headed by @beverlyjoe and @veenang and I am sure they will round up more volunteers to be part of this meaningful initiatives. During the last meet up, we were hoping to get @the-alien to join us but he wasn't feeling well. We are lucky to catch him on time especially as he gets better and we had our meet up at reeve club, right below @veenang office. ---  --- Before they arrive, @veenang, myself Gary and Daryl was had a small meetup as we wait for others, whike we were discussing on upcoming event in September for steemians, we meet a musician friend Gordon chin, that is when we convince him to get into steemit as it would add value to others and him too. Waiting for him to get his password , hopefully soon. We then move to reeve club as our guest @the-alien has arrive. Initially we were inside the club, but I recalled he told e that he got sick because of air-conditioning so I propose to move outside a especially so when it is not too loud as inside the club, we could actually hear each other better and have better conversation without having to shout at each other . Lol. ---  --- When @the-alien arrive, We were not only lucky once but twice as @the-alien is accompanied by @budgetbucketlist We learn that @budgetbucketlist has been travelling the world for 4 years now and since Hse got into steemit she has been travelling on steem. Wow, that is so admirable and something I wish I can do. Salute. I really love the story share by @budgetbucketlist on how she got into steemit. It is Hillarious. During our meetup with them both, we manage to get some insight from them how steemit were in the past when they started. I also learn that there we on trending pages too. Wow. There is so much to learn fromm them both. @the-alien is a very insightful person, and the best about him , he is not the type that keep those learned information to himself, he is giving and willing to educate us that is relatively still new in steemit. I am thankful on his insights on crypto, question I had the other day when I posted on steemit, [here](https://steemit.com/teammalaysia/@danieldoughty/the-rise-of-steem) This meet up is truly education, it is really nice to have meet up with steemian from other country. So if you happen to visit Sabah, Malaysia Borneo, let me know in advance. Our community would love to meet you too. To conclude, Steemit is truly a wonderful platform as the community is tight and willing to educate , share their know how and knowledge. Meet up is one of the best way grow in knowledge but most importantly to truly get to know the person behind the handle. By the way @cryptocurator, if you are reading this, it would be nice to see @the-alien and @budgetbucketlist on your #cryptocoffeeblog. Both is truly a wonderful steemians with interesting story that other Steemian would enjoy reading. Check out the photos, the meet up was a bit last minute so many other sabahan Steemian couldn't make it, but we were accompany with our resident steemians doctor @papanog, @wilsonkoh, @veenang, @viverridae, Gary and Daryl (forgotten the handle) hehe, who is not in the picture as they were chatting with other friends that arrive and Gary had to leave early to pick up his pilot friend from manila. Can't wait to meet everyone else again on another meetup during steemit bootcamp on the 22nd March 2018 .
